Result of Service

The individual contractor will support the implementation of national activities in Peru to reinforce the national sustainability reporting infrastructure and promote sustainable finance, enterprise sustainability and attract investment geared towards the SDGs and will contribute to organize a successful sharing of experience at the Latin American Partnership for the promotion of sustainability reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

There is a high demand for technical assistance to strengthen national sustainability reporting infrastructures to implement ISSB standards and to promote sustainability reporting for listed companies, non-listed companies (including SMEs), and public sector entities. As one of the beneficiary countries in Latin America, a series of activities have been conducted or are in progress in Peru including a kick off meeting, an assessment of the national financial and sustainability reporting infrastructure (ongoing), preparation of a preliminary summary report of the assessment with the Accounting Development Tool (ADT), preparation of a preliminary note on the status of sustainability reporting in Peru, development of a preliminary roadmap for the implementation of a sustainability reporting framework in Peru. Under the supervision of the project officer - DIAD, the project is implemented in Peru in collaboration with the National Accounting Council of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Peru. The national activities will also include: i) Finalizing the roadmap for a sustainability reporting framework in Peru ii) Finalizing the ADT assessment exercise of the national financial and sustainability reporting infrastructure to identify possible gaps and priority areas and preparing a revised ADT summary report and a revised note on the status of sustainability reporting. iii) Organizing a national workshop to validate the findings of the ADT national assessment, the note on sustainability reporting and deliver capacity-building on sustainability disclosure for regulators, industry associations and leading financial institutions. iv) Providing policy advice/developing an action plan based on the assessment results on how to reinforce the sustainability reporting ecosystem. v) Conducting a virtual capacity building workshop on sustainability reporting for the public sector. After the national activities conclude, key findings obtained in the beneficiary countries in the region will be shared with members of the Latin American Regional Partnership for the promotion of sustainability and SDG reporting to enhance dissemination of lessons learned and good practices. In addition, a one-day hybrid cross-cutting forum with Regional Partnerships for the promotion of sustainability reporting will be organized to share experience and lessons learned and propose solutions for common challenges. These activities contribute to the Project OC2: “Strengthened capacity of public and private stakeholders, including institutional investors to reinforce their national sustainability reporting infrastructure” and OC3: “Enhanced capacity for regional collaboration among public and private stakeholders in Latin America and Asia for the promotion of sustainability reporting”. To facilitate this work, an individual contractor will provide support in the implementation of national activities. Under the supervision of the Project Officer the individual contractor will: i) Finalizing the roadmap for a sustainability reporting framework in Peru • Provide support with the revisions of the roadmap and the preparation of the English version. ii) ADT assessment exercise and note on the status of sustainability reporting • Provide support in follow up activities in Peru, including conducting research for the preparation of the full ADT summary report, the consolidated ADT questionnaire and the complete note on the status of sustainability reporting, as needed. • Provide support with the revisions and preparation of multiple documents and presentations in Spanish and English. iii) Organizing a national workshop to validate the findings of the national assessment exercise and deliver capacity-building on sustainability disclosure. • Assist with the logistics and preparations for the National Workshop to validate findings in Lima, Peru, including outreach to key participants, contribution to the development of documents for the discussions, support with social media, etc. • Provide support in the collection of feedback evaluations and prepare inputs to the drafting of the summary report of the discussions in English. • Provide support with the organization of bilaterals with key counterparts and other organizational and preparatory activities as needed; and take notes to prepare minutes. iv)Providing policy advice/developing an action plan based on the assessment results on how to reinforce the sustainability reporting ecosystem. • Conduct research and provide input for the preparation of the action plan/policy recommendations. • Assist in the revisions of the action plan/policy recommendations and the preparation of the document in English. • Provide support in the preparation of presentations and materials for the main virtual meeting and the bilateral meetings with key counterparts. • Support the organization of the virtual meeting to present the action plan, including outreach to key participants, contribution to the development of documents for the discussions, support in note taking during the meeting and bilateral meetings with key counterparts, contribution to the collection of feedback evaluations and inputs to the drafting of the summary report of the discussions in English, support with social media v)Conducting a virtual capacity building workshop on sustainability reporting for the public sector. • Provides support with the revision and preparation of multiple translations (Spanish and English) of documents and materials for the Virtual Capacity building Workshop for both beneficiary countries in the region. • Supports the preparations and execution of the Virtual Capacity Building Workshop for the public sector, including outreach to key participants, support in note taking during the meeting, contribution to the collection of feedback evaluations and inputs to the drafting of the summary report of the discussions in English, support with social media, etc., for both beneficiary countries in the region. vi) Activities and sharing of experience at the regional level • Assists with the logistics and preparations for the exchange of experience and lessons learned at the Latin American Regional Partnership for the promotion of sustainability reporting. • Provides support in note taking and inputs to the drafting of the summary report of the regional meeting, etc. • Provides support to strengthen the regional partnership as needed.

Qualifications/special skills

A first university degree, Bachelor, in social responsibility, accounting, economics, finance, business administration, or related field is required. At least 2 years of work experience in accounting, finance, sustainability reporting, economics, or related field is required.

Languages

Fluency written and spoken in English and Spanish is required.
