Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Public Partnership Specialist, the consultant will assist the UNICEF Refugee Response Office in Poland’s Communication, Advocacy, and Partnerships team with:

(1) coordination of events and visits;

(2) development and production of multimedia content;

(3) web-related activities and content management;

(4) planning and executing activities organized by the office in line with the anniversaries and special days calendar.

How can you make a difference? 

Scope of Work:
Task 1: Coordination of events and visits
  • Support the organization and delivery of events organized or co-organized by the office through administrative and communications support, including ensuring appropriate UNICEF visibility.
  • Support the preparation of multimedia, graphic, and textual materials for all key office events.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth logistics and effective communication before, during, and after events and visits.
Deliverable 1:
  • Support provided to at least two major events organized or co-organized by the office.
  • Event-related and visits-related materials (e.g. agendas, invitations, briefing notes, multimedia assets) prepared and disseminated as required.
  • UNICEF visibility ensured across supported events, in line with branding and donor visibility guidelines.
Task 2: Development and production of multimedia content
  • Proactively create multimedia content (stories, photos, audio, video, infographics, etc.) in collaboration with the Communication, Advocacy, and Partnerships team and UNICEF programme officers, and adapt it for web and social media use.
  • Coordinate the collection of photos, videos, and storytelling content by producing concept notes, video scripts, and content missions, and by working with photographers and videographers to meet the office’s needs and ensure appropriate donor recognition.
  • Adapt multimedia assets from the Regional Office and/or Headquarters for the local audience, where relevant.
  • Create multimedia materials in line with the office's communication and advocacy priorities.
Deliverable 2:
  • At least two multimedia stories created.
  • A curated collection of photos and videos showcasing UNICEF Refugee Response Office programmes in Poland prepared.
  • Multimedia content translated into Polish and Ukrainian, as relevant.
  • Donor visibility requirements regularly tracked and appropriately reflected in multimedia content, as relevant.
  • Consent release forms obtained for photos, videos, and stories created or overseen by the consultant, and an organized archive of these forms maintained.
  • Ongoing documentation of lessons learned, challenges, and good practices in content creation.
Task 3: Webpage update and content management
  • Manage and update the unicef.org/eca/poland webpage, including uploading new content and supporting improvements to layout and presentation.
  • Review photo and video content on the WeShare platform and update captions, metadata, and credits as necessary, in line with UNICEF standards.
Deliverable 3:
  • Multimedia and editorial content uploaded to the webpage in a timely manner.
  • Content on the WeShare platform reviewed, updated, and maintained in an organized and accessible manner.
Task 4: Planning and executing activities organized by the office according to the anniversaries/special days calendar.
  • Plan and support the implementation of communication and partnerships activities aligned with key anniversaries, special days, and campaigns during the assignment period, especially the four-year mark of the war in Ukraine and the anniversary of the office’s presence in Poland.
  • Contribute to the development of communication plans, key messages, and outreach materials related to these moments.
  • Support coordination with internal teams and external partners to ensure coherent and timely delivery of planned activities.
Deliverable 4:
  • Communication and partnerships activities implemented in line with the office’s anniversaries and special days calendar.
  • Campaign-related content and materials developed and disseminated according to agreed timelines.
  • Brief reports or summaries prepared outlining activities implemented and results achieved, as required.
Other work assignments may be assigned by the supervisor at no additional cost.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Minimum requirements:

Experience:
•At least a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, marketing, social science, communication or a related field;
•A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in development and managing multimedia content;
•Extended experience in copywriting and storytelling;
•Experience in video/audio production and editing;
•Experience in supporting the organization and delivery of events through administrative and communications support;
•Demonstrated ability to coordinate and work effectively under pressure;
•Previous UNICEF, UN and/or INGO experience in a similar role is highly desirable;
Skills:
•Excellent communication, writing, planning, and summarizing skills;
•Proven ability to work independently;
•Knowledge of refugee-related topics is considered an asset;
•Experience with website management is considered an asset.
Languages:
•Fluency in Ukrainian, both verbal and written, is required;
•Working knowledge of English and Polish is required.
