Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Chief of the Human Resources Development Section/TrainForTrade, and the Programme Management Officer, the incumbent will undertake the following tasks for the promotion and implementation of TrainForTrade's capacity building activities on Port Management, E-Commerce and Trade Statistic as per workplan of activities: - Conceptualize, design and implement TrainForTrade's communication and outreach plans and efforts. - Plan and execute communication activities for TrainForTrade’s new courses on Energy Transition in Ports and Digital Transformation in Ports. - Write and edit articles and other content for UNCTAD's and TrainForTrade's websites and for other platforms and communication materials. - Design and produce communication and advocacy materials for final reports, publications, press releases, newsletters, policy briefs. - Liaise with DTL's Office of Director communication team to develop and promote TrainForTrade's contents on UNCTAD's platforms. - Review and propose improvements for the course design as well as the presentation of content through dynamic tools, interactive concept maps, functionality and/or aesthetic touches. - Design artwork, photos, charts and other graphic elements and media integrations for e-learning modules, training packages and webinars in compliance with UNCTAD/TrainForTrade brand identity. - Record and edit videos of subject matter experts on TrainForTrade thematic for promotional and dissemination purposes. - Contribute to the management of TFT's websites and e-learning platform, including content development, visual design and user experience, in line with UN standards of accessibility and ensure gender inclusive language is applied to any type of written or oral communication as per UN gender inclusive language with new UNCTAD logo. - Promote stakeholders' engagement and buy-in through the effective use of communication instruments. - Monitor the reach and impact of communication and information materials and activities. Analyze statistics of web traffic. - Produce the manual of Digital Transformation in Ports in Indesign (PDF and EPUB). - Update manuals for several modules of TFT’s Modern Port management course.

Qualifications/special skills

An advanced university degree, Master's in communication, journalism, visual communication, or social science related field, is required. At least 7 years of professional experience in multimedia production, graphic design, or related field with a combination of working experience in CMS like WordPress, LMS such as Moodle, H5P, video production, social media, are required. Work experience with digital and web tools applications is desirable. Work experience in strategic development of corporate communication within international organizations is desirable. Work experience with e-learning platforms and TrainForTrade's methodology will be an advantage.

Languages

Fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of French is an advantage.
