The Information Technology Department (ITD) is hiring a Principal Digital Program Specialist – Enterprise Architect, who will provide strategic leadership and expert guidance in shaping AIIB’s enterprise-wide digital architecture, ensuring alignment between business strategy, digital transformation priorities, and technology solutions. The role will serve as the Bank’s senior authority on enterprise architecture, working across departments to design integrated, sustainable, secure, and scalable digital ecosystems that enable AIIB’s operational effectiveness, artificial intelligence (AI) adoption, data governance, and long-term institutional capabilities.
The position will play a pivotal role in driving architectural coherence across major programs, including digital workplace, core business systems, data platforms, and AI services, while ensuring adherence to architectural principles, governance, cyber and risk requirements, and future-ready technology standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture (EA) framework that supports AIIB’s strategic priorities, digital-first vision, and technology roadmap.
- Lead architecture planning cycles, ensuring alignment of business capabilities, data, applications, and technology layers.
- Provide authoritative guidance to digital and AI transformation programs, ensuring architectural soundness, integration compatibility, and long-term sustainability.
- Provide expert architectural oversight for major digital programs, including AI platform evolution, data governance initiatives, knowledge management, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and core system enhancements, and cloud modernization.
- Serve as senior advisor to project executives and delivery leads, ensuring that solution designs adhere to enterprise standards and achieve intended business outcomes.
- Support program teams in technology evaluation, vendor assessment, and ensuring interoperability across multivendor ecosystems.
- Lead the establishment and continuous improvement of EA governance, including architecture review processes, design principles, patterns, and compliance checks.
- Ensure that technology designs meet AIIB’s security, data privacy, cyber, and operational risk controls.
- Chair or actively participate in architecture boards, technical working groups, and relevant governance bodies.
- Drive collaboration with business departments to translate strategic objectives and business processes into future-state architectural designs.
- Partner with IT delivery teams to ensure pragmatic, implementable architecture that accelerates time-to-value while reducing technical debt.
- Promote architectural literacy across ITD and business units, enabling better decision-making and strengthening enterprise-wide digital capability.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, digital patterns, and AI capabilities relevant to AIIB’s strategic direction.
- Lead the development of architectural patterns for AI solutions, data pipelines, workflow orchestration, knowledge management, and cloud-native platforms.
- Act as a thought leader to drive innovation adoption across the Bank.
- Oversee architecture assurance across project life cycles, ensuring that solutions are robust, scalable, secure, and maintainable.
- Anticipate and mitigate architectural risks, ensuring continuity, resilience, and supportability in technology landscapes.
- Contribute to building enterprise-wide digital resilience, including business continuity, disaster recovery, and cyber-resilient designs.
Requirements:
- Minimum 15-20 years of relevant experience, including at least eight years in senior enterprise architecture roles within multinational, financial, development, or technology-driven institutions. Experience in multilateral development banks, financial services, or global institutions preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related fields.
- Professional certifications such as TOGAF, Azure Architect, or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale digital or transformation programs from an architectural perspective.
- Proven track record shaping and governing enterprise architecture in complex, cross-functional organizations.
- Experience advising senior management and engaging with diverse stakeholders across business and IT.
- Expert-level understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, Gartner EA, etc.) and their practical application in complex organizations.
- Deep knowledge of modern digital technologies, including cloud platforms (Azure preferred), API architecture, microservices, data platforms, low-code platforms, SaaS ecosystems, cybersecurity, and workflow automation.
- Strong proficiency in designing architectures for AI, machine learning platforms, data governance, and knowledge management environments.
- Solid understanding of IT service management, system integration, security architecture, and DevOps/DevSecOps practices.
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to translate vision into cohesive architectural roadmaps.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Able to articulate complex concepts to senior leadership and technical teams.
