1. Project Background
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is Financing Infrastructure for Tomorrow in Asia and beyondâinfrastructure with sustainability at its core. Collaborating with partners, AIIB meets clientsâ needs by unlocking new capital and investing in infrastructure that is green, technology-enabled and promotes regional connectivity.The AIIB Communications Department (COM) plays a crucial role in crafting and conveying AIIB's narrative, as well as protecting its brand through both internal communications and external engagement. In 2026, COM plans to expand its team by adding top-tier graphic design services to ensure the timely and impactful delivery of materials for key corporate events, exhibitions, and marketing campaigns, both internally and globally. The Graphic Designer consultant will collaborate with the Creative Team and be supervised by the Senior Graphic Designer officer. They will oversee the production of brand-aligned graphic material for events, editorial products, and visual storytelling. This role is pivotal in maintaining the Bankâs branding and style guidelines while developing creative assets and services that align with AIIB's corporate and COM strategies.
2. Objectives of the Assignment
- Produce expert-level artwork that adheres strictly to AIIB guidelines, timelines, and established COM and Creative workflows and procedures. Ensure all creations align with brand standards for a unified appearance.- Partner with the Creative Team to craft sophisticated print and digital materials for diverse high-profile events. Apply a seasoned and innovative perspective to all projects.- Cultivate an environment that maximizes collaboration and efficiency among experienced COM and Creative team members.- Ensure all promotional materials consistently reflect the AIIB's sophisticated visual identity and style across all platforms.- Extensive experience to creatively solve complex design challenges and offer well-considered alternative solutions.
3. Scope of Services
The graphic designer consultant will support AIIB's business-driven activities, ensuring alignment with COM priorities and corporate guidelines. Among other ad-hoc assignments, and preparing new templates to enhance the quality of the visuals for the IDS screens, the consultant will be in charge of updating corporate templates for AIIB staff and updating archives to ensure all the templates are available in the AIIB Intranet Connectivity and other relevant channels. This role involves a proactive and problem-solving approach to enhance and revamp corporate branding templates, creating graphic materials for various campaigns, and designing visual identities and brand guidelines for major events like the Annual Meeting, AIIB Board meetings, and other internal campaigns such as corporate visual identity assets, Inspire Day, and COP31. Additionally, the consultant will design editorial products, including covers for AIIB publications, maintaining consistent, high-quality outputs. Key responsibilities of the position include:- Designing editorial products, UI/UX design, and helping with pre- and post-production workflows, preparing feedback on layouts and data visualization editorial products produced by freelancers to ensure they are in line with AIIB corporate branding, logo, and other relevant guidelines in a timely manner.- Conceptualizing and creating high-level event presentations while ensuring that they meet AIIB's rules and guidelines.- Developing design concepts and professional products that successfully reflect AIIB's mission and COM strategies while simultaneously appealing to a wide range of audiences.- Developing short animations for AIIB HQ screens or AIIB Social Media.

4. Consultancy Output / Deliverables
- Complete specific assignments on an ad-hoc basis and participate to meetings with the departments when requested- Work under the supervision of the Senior Graphic Designer and the AIIB Creative Team on a wide range of assignments including digital and physical collaterals to support AIIB activities, projects and campaigns- Ensure that all work aligns with AIIB styles and brand guidelines- Provide all source packaged files and organize them into the SharePoint archive for future reference

5. Implementation Arrangement

6. Support to the Consultant by the Bank
- The COM Team or the AIIB department will provide the designer with all the documentation, the digital assets and data available for carrying out assignments.- The designer will be responsible to source or recommend stock material required to complete design tasks.
7. Knowledge Transfer and Training
- The graphic designer should be able to work with minimum supervision and proactively recommend graphic solutions and good references for visuals or trends from the market and peer organizations.
Qualification Requirement
- English both in written and oral, solid understanding of workflows and able to work with minimum supervision. Collaborative and positive attitude.- A portfolio that showcases past projects and clients. Proven experience working with international or peer organizations outside of AIIB would be an advantage.- 5-10 years of experience in graphic design.- Previous experience in a graphic design agency is highly desirable.- Solid experience in editorial design products and a related portfolio of publications will be an asset.- Proven proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, and Canva, and adherence to international standards.- Bachelorâs degree in a related field.- Knowledge of production workflows, service design, product design, and branding, with the ability to work independently, will be considered an asset.- Collaborative and positive attitude.
