We began operations in Beijing in 2016 and have since grown to 111 approved members worldwide. We are capitalized at USD100 billion and AAA-rated by the major international credit rating agencies. Collaborating with partners, AIIB meets clients’ needs by unlocking new capital and investing in infrastructure that is green, technology-enabled, and promotes regional connectivity.

The Office of the Controller (CTL) is responsible for coordinating the Bank's sustainability reporting, which spans governance, development, preparation, and approval and public disclosure. CTL is seeking a Finance Officer in the Financial Accounting and Reporting team to support its sustainability reporting mandate.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Secretary to the Sustainability Report Steering Committee, overseeing the reporting calendar, drafting meeting agendas and materials, and fostering effective engagement with internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct ongoing research on International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) standards and track other relevant frameworks to ensure a solid grasp of evolving requirements. Propose implementation policies based on applicable provisions.
  • Monitor emerging trends in the global sustainability reporting landscape, including peer practices, industry methodologies, and regulatory updates, and formulate recommendations to support the Bank's readiness for evolving disclosure expectations in the market.
  • Conduct gap analyses to assess alignment with emerging standards and identify areas for improvement in the Bank's sustainability reporting.
  • Interpret reporting standards and provide clarifications to key stakeholders as necessary.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the Sustainability Report, including drafting the indicative report skeleton, collecting inputs from responsible functions across the Bank and conducting a reasonableness review.
  • Contribute to integrated financial reporting and consistency with other related reports where applicable, leveraging a solid understanding of both the Sustainability Report and financial statements and their intersection.
  • Support the application of internal control procedures, and coordinate limited assurance engagement with external auditors when launched.
  • Engage in joint initiatives with peer institutions, and assist with other external communications as needed.
  • Be involved in data-governance enhancement and IT-system and process-improvement projects as needed to enhance reporting efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant professional experience in an international financial institution, multilateral development organization, or international consultancy specializing in accounting and risk management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, risk management, or related fields. A master’s degree in these fields is desirable.
  • Professional qualifications (CPA, CFA, or equivalent) are an advantage; sustainability‑related certifications (e.g., FSA) are a plus.
  • Expertise and extensive experience in the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and ISSB standards. Strong understanding of IFRS/ISSB‑based reporting, and demonstrated experience in sustainability / environmental, social, and governance reporting (financial or nonfinancial).
  • Sound knowledge of other globally recognized sustainability-related frameworks (such as European Sustainability Reporting Standards, Global Reporting Initiative, Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures, and Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials).
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage constructively across departments and across different levels of seniority.
  • Outstanding written and verbal English communication and writing skills.
