An Acquisition lead will play a key role in the Fundraising team, contributing significantly to the development of donor acquisition initiatives that promote UNICEF's mission and increase donations.  

Major responsibilities:

Donor Acquisition Management and Strategy Implementation  

  • Manage and implement strategies to grow the organization's donor base, targeting priority audience segments identified by the team. 
  • Oversee multi-channel donor acquisition campaigns to engage target audiences effectively.   

Data Analysis and Budget Development  

  • Analyse acquisition data and test results to evaluate the effectiveness of acquisition strategies and inform decision-making.  
  • Develop an acquisition budget to ensure cost-effective acquisition efforts.  

Team Leadership  

  • Lead the donor acquisition team, providing guidance and support to achieve fundraising objectives.  
  • Set team vision, goals and KPIs.  
  • As required, manage relationships and projects with external agencies (such as creative and media agencies).  

Other Responsibilities  

  • Support the development of investment plans and business cases as required.  
  • Provide technical expertise in donor acquisition tools and techniques.  
  • Collaborate across teams on audience strategy and on aligning donor acquisition efforts with broader marketing strategies (including brand and retention objectives).

Minimum requirements:

Education:
A first level university degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field is required.  Additional training in a related field is an asset.  

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years of progressively responsible work experience in fundraising or the private sector, with a focus on donor or customer acquisition, and a proven track record of successful donor or customer acquisition initiatives, including at least two years leading and managing an acquisition team.  

Language requirements:

  • Fluency in Thai and English is required (written and spoken). (A valid TOEIC score of at least 855: Listening and Reading section is required.)
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.

Capabilities Required:

  • Proven ability to support effective long-term strategic fundraising plans. 
  • Proven ability to support implementation of clear goals that are consistent with agreed strategies. 
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and seize new fundraising opportunities, formulating new fundraising strategies and models. 
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust to unexpected challenges and propose countermeasures accordingly.  
  • Diplomatic negotiation, influencing and networking skills to establish and maintain trusted partnerships and to develop close and effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.  
  • Knowledge of digital sales and marketing. 
  • Proven track records in managing digital campaigns and omni channel campaigns, achieving sales targets, leading & managing sales team.
