Purpose of Assignment:

The purpose of this consultancy is to provide technical support to the maternal and newborn health and nutrition team, UNICEF Myanmar to support the management of programme documents and to ensuring that programme activities are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and in line with organizational requirements.

Scope of Work:

The consultant will work closely with the maternal and newborn health and nutrition team and partners to perform the following tasks:

Programme Implementation Support (See TOR for details)

  • Develop tracker based on programme implementation schedules and milestones in each PD
  • Support monitoring of implementation progress against agreed plans, indicators and targets

Review of programme of financial reports

  • Support with reviewing budget requests and related submissions by partners to strengthen compliance oversight 
  • Prepare monthly progress reports through review of financial data measured against agreed indicators 

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning 

  • Assist in preparing data for routine monitoring, reviews, and evaluations
  • Promote learning and adaptive management based on evidence and lessons learned

Capacity Strengthening

  • Support Maternal Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) team in capacity building on programme management tools and processes 
  • Support development or improvement of programme management systems, templates, or SOPs

Minimum requirements: Qualificataions/Experience/ Knowledge/Expertise/Skills 

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Business Administration, Public Health, Economics, Social work, International Relations or similar)
  • Work Experience: - At least 3-5 years’ experience in programme/project management and providing administrative and financial support
  • At least 2 years of proven experience on use of project management tools
  • Experience in working national/international NGOs or other international institutions
  • Experience in organizing capacity building trainings
  • Skills (optional): Knowledge on the use of project management tools, administrative and financial management, organizing capacity building trainings, Skills in data analysis comparing different sets of information to identify correlations and differences, knowledge on AI tools and digital platforms, skills in organizing, visualizing and presenting data, tailoring visuals to highlight key insights
  • Experience designing, facilitating, or participating in training programs or simulation exercises for UN agencies related to humanitarian access, security risk management, humanitarian operations.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Myanmar is required
  • Desirables: Prior work experience with UNICEF or other UN/international organizations is an asset
