The purpose of the role is to support research done around mapping of the current Capital Adequacy Framework (CAF) architecture, and structured review of how Preferred Creditor Status (PCS) is defined, justified, and applied across multilateral development banks (MDB). 

Responsibilities:

  • Support on the structured review of the G20 Common Framework, focusing on recent developments, implementation challenges, and implications for MDBs.
  • The research will involve mapping of the current CAF architecture, summarizing documented country cases and timelines, and analysing key issues such as creditor coordination, comparability of treatment, private creditor participation, and interaction with IMF programs.
  • Support structured review of how PCS is defined, justified, and applied across MDBs. Including summarizing the economic and legal rationale for PCS, reviewing historical evidence on MDB repayment behaviour during sovereign stress episodes, and comparing how PCS is recognized by major credit rating agencies. 

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in law, business administration, finance, international studies, from a reputable university.
  • Ability to work well with a diverse team and internal and external stakeholders to achieve effective results and excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, including the ability to prepare, present, and discuss recommendations clearly and concisely.
  • Strong knowledge of Python or equivalent capabilities for development, data processing, automation and reporting.
  • High level of organizational skills, critical thinking and customer service skills.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
