Position Objective

Manage CABEI’s environmental and social grievance mechanism, ensuring timely, impartial, confidential, and technically sound handling of complaints related to environmental and social risks, impacts, or non-compliance. Strengthen the Bank’s capacity to identify, assess, monitor, and manage non-financial environmental and social risks in line with applicable regulations and international best practices.

General Requirements

  • Residency in Honduras.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree or specialized certifications related to environmental management, sustainability, risk management, human rights, or social responsibility preferred).

Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience.
  • Experience with multilateral development banks, international financial institutions, NGOs, or projects financed by multilateral organizations.
  • Proven experience managing environmental and social complaints, accountability or grievance mechanisms, and non-financial risk analysis, including reputational, operational, legal, and compliance risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and manage CABEI’s environmental and social grievance mechanism.
  • Receive, assess, document, track, and close environmental and social complaints and claims.
  • Coordinate case evaluation, follow-up, remediation, and resolution with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify trends, risks, and control gaps, and propose improvements to governance, risk management tools, and internal procedures.
  • Prepare technical, statistical, and executive reports and support audits, reviews, and field missions.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Environmental and social risk and impact management.
  • Grievance and case management mechanisms.
  • Non-financial risk management and governance frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and confidentiality management skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (oral and written).

  • Must be a citizen of one of our 15 member countries.
