1. Project Background

Working with partners, AIIB meets clientsâ needs by unlocking new capital and investing in infrastructure that is green, technology-enabled, and promotes regional connectivity.Financial Institutions and Funds Clients Department, Global (FIF) is responsible for expanding AIIB client relationships amongst Financial Institutions and Funds in the infrastructure sector globally. FIF works closely with Financial Institutions & Funds across the range of AIIB-covered sectors, geographies, client types, and products as a conduit for AIIB to deliver its Corporate Strategy and targets. In addition, FIF focuses on the ongoing expansion of business, targeting opportunities with high alignment with AIIBâs sector strategy and private capital mobilization to close the infrastructure investment gap in Asia. This includes investment in CLOs and other structured products.FIF intends to engage a Financial Sector Consultant to support the identification and preparation of sovereign and non-sovereign financial institutions (FI) projects, with a focus on operations in China.
2. Objectives of the Assignment
The Consultant will support AIIB Project Team Leader(s) (PTLs) in delivering the activities outlined... below, as well as other project-related tasks as may be identified. The assignment aims to support the development of sovereign and non-sovereign FI opportunities, promote innovative financing solutions, and strengthen environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices among partner financial institutions, primarily in China.
3. Scope of Services
The Consultant will:1ï¼Analyze and provide insights on key trends shaping China's financial sect...or, as requested;2ï¼Support PTLs in originating and developing FI project leads, and in strengthening relationships with FIs, including policy and commercial banks, non-bank financial institutions (e.g., leasing companies, fintech firms), and insurers;3ï¼Contribute to the structuring of FI projects (including equity, debt, and guarantees, as applicable);4ï¼Support and advise on due diligence for FI projects, as required;5ï¼Support and advise on strengthening co-financing arrangements with FIs;6ï¼Assist in policy dialogue with financial sector regulators, and central and local government authorities, as needed;7ï¼Participate in project discussions and negotiations, as requested by PTLs;8ï¼Undertake any other tasks assigned by the PTLs in connection with FI project preparation and implementation.

Qualification Requirement
a) Bachelorâs degree in a relevant field is required; a Masterâs degree is preferred.b) At leas...t 15 years of relevant experience, with deep knowledge of Chinaâs financial sector, including FI operations and the regulatory landscape.c) Demonstrated experience with projects financed by international financial institutions (IFIs) is required.d) Demonstrated experience in applying ESG frameworks and integrating ESG considerations into financial sector operations and investment projects;e) Strong stakeholder engagement experience, including collaboration with FIs, regulators, and central and local government authorities, and ability to support policy dialogue and partnerships.
