Since its launch in 2019, YuWaah and its partners have reached more than 100 million young people across India through initiatives focused on skilling, employability, entrepreneurship, social impact and civic participation. As YuWaah enters its next phase of growth, there is an increasing need to strengthen engagement with strategic partners, deepen collaboration across sectors, and ensure effective functioning of its governance and partnership platforms. This includes supporting key mechanisms such as the Board and Leaders Council, managing partner engagement and reporting processes, convening ecosystem stakeholders, and strengthening collaboration with government institutions and UN agencies.

The purpose of the Partnerships team within YuWaah is to (I) Drive incomes through existing and new partners, (II) Manage existing partnerships and strengthen engagement (Ill) support the Governance structure of YuWaah including the board and leadership council, (IV) Support partnerships that enable the goals of YuWaah with a focus on private sector and its convergence with Government and partners.

By stepping into this temporary assignment, you ensure that vital partnerships remain strong, donor commitments are honored, and stakeholders stay engaged. Your role safeguards operational continuity, keeps time-bound deliverables on track, and reduces risks of delays in implementation and reporting. In short, you make a difference by maintaining momentum, protecting trust, and enabling the organization to achieve its planned results without interruption.

The Partnership Specialist position is a temporary assignment to cover maternity leave, ensuring continuity in partnership management, reporting, and stakeholder engagement during the incumbent’s absence. The role safeguards operational stability, maintains time-bound deliverables, and mitigates risks of delays in implementation, reporting, and partner engagement.

In addition, the Partnership Specialist will contribute directly to YuWaah’s mandate by:

  • Ensuring diversity of partners onboarded on the YuWaah platform, aligned with its mission.
  • Catalysing opportunities for multi-partner strategic engagements and events that foster collaboration and co-creation with young people.
  • Leading fundraising efforts for both the YuWaah Secretariat and YuWaah Partners, enabling YuWaah to evolve into a self-sustaining platform.
  • Identify and generate opportunities for leveraging non-monetary resources from Yuwaah partners to strengthen YuWaah’s digital platforms, Secretariat, and Solution Partners.

Working closely with the Resource Mobilisation Section and under the direct supervision of the Chief – GenU, this post will manage critical partnerships to enhance results for young people and ensure the long-term sustainability of YuWaah as a collaborative platform.

Summary of key functions & accountabilities:

1. Develop and implement annual partnership engagement and resource mobilization plans for YuWaah

2. Grow strategic long-term, flexible income through partners and board members to sustain YuWaah as a platform

3. Leading management of existing YuWaah partnerships (both local and global) with support from the Secretariat to enhance the engagement with partners, including reporting, their participation in governance and co-creation at YuWaah

4. Support the management of the board and leadership council at YuWaah

5. Support advocacy efforts of YuWaah with a particular focus on the private sector

6. Establish and manage partnerships that can help leverage funds for enhancing the goals of YuWaah

7. Provide inputs into partnerships plans and strategy for YuWaah

8. Report on progress basis timelines linked to donor reports and any other national or global reporting requirements

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Social Science, International Development or any other relevant field.
  • Work Experience: At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the Development Sector focusing on Partnerships and Fund Raising or any other related field.
  • Skills: Knowledge in donor relations, stakeholder engagement, program reporting, governance, resource mobilization is required.
  • Language Requirements: Proficiency in English is required.

Desirables:

  • Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or the local language is an asset.
  • Experience in Advocacy, Youth programs and UN experience are considered assets.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
