UNICEF Mozambique supports the Government to improve equitable access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene services, particularly in underserved provinces such as Zambezia. Water supply and WASH in institutions (schools, health facilities, and other public institutions) are key programme components aimed at improving child health, school attendance, and resilience.
To strengthen implementation, UNICEF seeks an individual consultant to provide technical and operational support at field level, aligned with programme priorities and standards for WASH service delivery.

Minimum requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, water engineering, hydrogeology or related fields.
- Work Experience: Minimum Bachelor in Civil Engineering with 2–5 years of relevant experience in WASH programmes in general and including at least 3 years of experience in the construction or supervision of borehole drilling and water supply and institutional sanitation construction works. Proven experience in water supply and WASH in institutions projects
- Language Requirements: Fluent in Portuguese, spoken and written. Knowledge of the local language in the project area will be an advantage
- Knowledge/Expertise/Skills: Solid knowledge in solar water supply systems Knowledge in Environmental Management is an advantage
- Desirables: Experience working with government and partners. Experience working in Zambezia province is an asset
