Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Interregional Advisor, Regional Advisory Programme in ALDC, the Individual Contractor will support the implementation and coordination of activities under the GGSP COTONI project in Benin. The Individual Contractor will provide operational, coordination and analytical support to the Project Manager and the Regional Advisory Programme to ensure the smooth implementation and monitoring of project activities. In particular, the contractor will: 1. Assist the Project Manager in the day-to-day coordination of activities related to the GGSP COTONI project, including follow-up on project work plans, coordination with national stakeholders in Benin, and support in the preparation and organization of project meetings, workshops and missions. 2. Contribute to project management and monitoring by maintaining and updating work plans, tracking deliverables, and preparing management tools (Excel databases, PowerPoint presentations and tracking tables) to facilitate project monitoring and results-based reporting to UNCTAD, project partners, and donors. 3. Assist in the preparation of periodic implementation updates, briefing notes and progress reports related to the GGSP COTONI project. Support the consolidation of inputs from project stakeholders and contribute to the preparation of donor-related documentation and internal reporting requirements. 4. Support analytical work related to the project by compiling and organizing trade-related data, preparing graphs and data visualizations, and assisting in the preparation of background materials related to trade facilitation, transit and productive capacity development in Benin and other LDCs. 5. Maintain an updated overview of project timelines, activity schedules and deliverables related to the GGSP COTONI project. Assist in sequencing project activities to ensure timely implementation of outputs and effective coordination with project partners and stakeholders. 6. Support the logistical preparation of meetings, workshops and missions related to the project, including preparation of documentation, follow-up with participants and partners, and coordination with relevant UNCTAD administrative services where required.
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced University degree, Master, in Economics, International Trade, Social Science, or related area, is required. At least 1 year of experience in the area of management, economics or other related field is required.
Languages
Fluency written and spoken in English and French is required.
