How can you make a difference? 

The intern will support the Child Protection Section in the implementation of capacity-building initiatives under the Child Protection Programme, with a particular focus on the cascade training approach for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), Case Management, Child Justice, and Children on the Move. The intern will:

  1. Assist in the planning, coordination, and documentation of cascade training activities.
  2. Support the development, review, and formatting of training curricula, facilitator guides, presentations, and learning materials.
  3. Coordinate with government counterparts, implementing partners, consultants, and facilitators to support the effective implementation of training activities.
  4. Prepare meeting minutes, briefing notes, reports, and other programme documentation.
  5. Support the monitoring of training implementation, participant tracking, and knowledge management processes.
  6. Contribute to the development of communication and visibility materials, including success stories, photographs, social media content, and event highlights, in coordination with the Communications team and in line with UNICEF branding guidelines.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

  • Be enrolled in a degree Programme at a recognized institution of higher education (above 18 years old), or have graduated within the last two years, or have university degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Law, International Relations, Public Policy, Education, or another relevant field.
  • Demonstrating interest in child protection, child rights, social services, or humanitarian and development work is desirable.
  • Previous professional experience is not required; however, academic, volunteer, or extracurricular experience related to child protection, research, training, or community engagement is an asset.
  • familiarity with MS Office/Canva/Adobe, basic data management, report writing, and social media content creation — since communications is part of the role.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is an asset.
  • Basic report writing, data management and communication skills.
  • Experience creating communication or social media content is desirable.
