The Office of Vice President, Policy and Strategy (VPPS), supports the delivery of strategic direction and programming, oversees the implementation of operational policies and processes for AIIB’s infrastructure investment portfolio and results and their compliance with environmental, social, procurement and financial management requirements; and manages the administrative budget. The Senior Officer will report to the Vice President and support the operations of the Office. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall operations and business management of the Office of VPPS, ensuring effective coordination, prioritization, and delivery of the VPPS’s work program.
  • Support the VPPS in the oversight and coordination of the Policy and Strategy Group (PSG), facilitating information flow and coordination across the departments under the VPPS and following up on key priorities, issues, and actions requiring the VPPS’s attention.
  • Support the VPPS in advancing key institutional and strategic priorities, including undertaking and coordinating substantive work on selected strategic, policy, operational, and corporate initiatives.
  • Coordinate and provide substantive inputs to key management, Executive Committee, Board, and other institutional processes, including the preparation of briefing notes, presentations, talking points, management updates, and other decision-making materials.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental coordination on priority initiatives and institutional matters, consolidating inputs, coordinating follow-up, and supporting the timely resolution of issues requiring engagement across organizational units.
  • Coordinate the VPPS’s key internal and external engagements and management meetings, including preparation of agendas, briefing materials and presentations, and monitoring follow-up actions.
  • Oversee the effective operation of the VPPS front office and serve as business management focal point for budget and resource matters, internal processes, IT, records management, facilities, event, business continuity, and other corporate systems and processes.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in business management.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent, preferably in business administration, economics, public administration, or equivalent.
  • Work experience in multilateral development banks or financial institutions, with familiarity with policies, processes, and strategies is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience, judgment, and leadership to execute multiple and diverse work programs.
  • Ability to adapt based on business needs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and succinct style.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
