This position is located in the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) Kabul Mission HQ. The Information Systems Assistant reports to the Unit Supervisor of the Service Management Unit in Filed Technology Section and Chief Field Technology Section.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Unit Supervisor of the Service Management Unit and Chief Field Technology Section, the incumbent will perform the following responsibilities: • Providing ICT support for computer information systems, enterprise-level applications support, server system operations and administration, implementation of network projects, databases and applications in assigned areas and troubleshooting for various applications. • Installing and configuring ICT end-user equipment computer hardware, software, systems, printers and scanners. • Providing timely and efficient ICT end-user support to all mission components and sites. • Receives and logs problem calls or ICT service requests in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. • Diagnoses and resolve ICT hardware, software, or connectivity problems. • Collaborate and work with Operations Unit to provide network connectivity in mission HQ and field offices. • Performs tasks related to scheduled service requests, including ICT end-user equipment replacement, transfer, installation and uninstallation, ICT end-user software installation, LAN connection, returns to stock, etc. • Escalates problems to the appropriate technical units in accordance with established procedures and standard operating procedures (SOP) • Provide ICT training to end-users on the use of standard enterprise-level applications and systems. • Coordinate with Centralized Warehousing on the ICT equipment issuance and returns to stock. • Keeps abreast of developments in technology both in the UN and in the industry in general. • Acting as a point of contact for all ICT support services received from end-users. • Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making. • Assists with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures. • Performs other related duties as required.

Work Experience
A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in information systems analysis, database installation and management and website development, systems administration and maintenance, software applications, hardware installation and related work is required. Experience in providing end-user support for SAP and other UN enterprise applications is desirable.
