Forum Syd is a civil society member organisation that works with development issues from a rights-based perspective. Our vision is “a just and sustainable world where all people have the power to effect change”. We work with advocacy and capacity building of partner organisations around the world, on issues relating to democracy and human rights, gender equality, and environment and climate change. We mediate grants from Sida (the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) to Swedish organisations cooperating with local partners in approximately 70 countries. We have offices in Sweden, Vilnius, Cambodia, Colombia, Kenya and Somalia.

The Impact and Quality Assurance Unit, Stockholm

Forum Syd is implementing a new organization in order to increase effectiveness and coherence in our development cooperation, reinforce member value and strengthening our development cooperation. The Head of Impact and Quality Assurance will play a key role in this work securing the strategic development of Forum Syd’s overall operations.

The Head of Impact and Quality Assurance will lead a team of staff who will work within the following areas; Grants management CIVSAM, program development, PM&E, method development and learning. She or he will lead strategic development of Forum Syd’s work with development cooperation. He or she will be the owner of the global processes within the area of Impact and Quality Assurance and will also lead a global team with representatives from head office, hubs and country offices.  The Head of Impact & Quality Assurance is a member of the Global Management Team and reports directly to the Secretary General.

 Areas of responsibility

• Lead the Impact & Quality Assurance unit of 6-7 persons
• Grants management CIVSAM
• Team lead CIVSAM sub-granting incl. distribution of incoming applications and decisions on SvEO agreements
• Overall grants management of other agreements
• Ensure quality of and compliance with grants processes
• Program development
• PM&E, method development and learning
• Represent Forum Syd in relation to Sida
• Global process leader

Qualifications required

• Relevant academic degree or equivalent qualifications obtained in another way
• Experience of sub-granting and budgeting within the framework of Sida CIVSAM
• Experience of working with rights-based approach
• Experience of working with strengthening the civil society globally
• Experience of working with monitoring and evaluation
• Management experience
• Experience of working with process management
• Stylistic ability
• Collaborative
• Very good ability to express oneself orally and in writing in Swedish and English
