NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water,sanitation and hygiene sectors.
The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 5000 committed and competent employees involved in projects across four continents. In addition, NRC runs one of the world’s largest standby rosters -NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours notice when a crisis occurs
NRC's Organizational Development Department seeks HR Advisor
One of our HR advisors is going on a seven (7) month leave and we are seeking a person who can fill this temporary position. With the possibility of extension, we are looking for an experienced HR professoinal who's responsibilities will include:

Advise managers at Head Office (HO) on personnel planning, manage recruitment processes and encourage HR synergies across departments at HO

Advise and facilitate training to HO on NRC’s HR systems, policies and strategies

Share best practises on operative HR issues with other HR advisers in NRC

Ensure good implementation of HR initiatives

Support and advise on salary scales and organisational structure in accordance with generic organisational models
-
Ensure and facilitate implementation of compensation and benefits for HO staff including yearly salary negotiation with the union
-
Advice in personnel issues, mediate in conflicts and eventual legal issues
-
Follow up staff on leave from HO, and secure the return
Qualifications
-
Relevant university degree
-
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, within HR, administration, project management and personnel administration

Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities, particularly on recruitment
-
Knowledge about the Norwegian labour system
-
Experience from working in complex and dynamic contexts
-
Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
-
Advanced knowledge of standard ICT office support tools and systems, experience with Webcruiter is an advantage
-
Good understanding of the humanitarian sector
