The UNOPS ICT team provides the organization with tools and resources to compliment and support the corporate ERP System (Unit4 Business World), Intranet, corporate Website in alignment with the UNOPS technology platform and ICT strategy.  System development domains include eProcurement, knowledge management, performance reporting, payroll, benefits and entitlements and project management.

Functional Responsibilities

The Finance Functional Analyst will work under the supervision of Finance Functional Specialist and in close coordination with Finance Process Lead to apply knowledge of the Finance modules in Unit4 Business World and will, amongst other tasks:

  • Provide inputs to the Solutions Design team and Business Analysts to enable improvement of business processes and assist in implementing appropriate solution for the Finance, Asset Management and Banking processes.
  • Make recommendations and demonstrate  how to best utilize Unit4 Business World Finance to accomplish strategic business objectives.
  • Investigate reported application problems and work with the technical specialists to test, diagnose, analyse and isolate the root cause of problems. Coordinate further diagnosis and tests as necessary and recommend workarounds where appropriate.
  • Ensure system documentation relating to Finance, Asset Management and Banking processes are fit-for-purpose and meet UNOPS requirements and objectives.
  • Provide technical and functional support in the development and review of design activities for system improvements, changes, enhancements and upgrades as they relate to Finance.

The Finance Functional Analyst will be involved in systems design workshops, assisting to ensure the business requirements are met and a fit-for-purpose solution established. Thereafter, the Finance Functional Analyst will support the hands-on build elements.

 In addition to the above, the Finance Functional Analyst will have a supporting role in Application Development Life Cycle within Unit4 Business World to ensure that enhancements to the application are undertaken in a carefully planned manner and include the following sub-processes:

  • Define and accomplish system enhancements to the Unit4 Business World ERP to streamline operations and usability, including execution, co-ordination of testing, and sign-off
  • Prepare functional specifications
  • Apply configuration changes
  • Systems and data analysis
  • Implementation of new modules
  • Standard change implementation
  • Ad hoc change implementation
  • Design and develop reports within the system
  • Undertake unit testing and integration testing
  • Provide key input and assistance for user acceptance testing
  • Assist in the development of training materials and other guidance
  • Adequately document all work activities, including design specifications and test plans
  • Provide post rollout support and assist in ongoing production support activities
  • Articulate and develop new, innovative concepts that could be implemented in addition to or as a replacement for existing solutions.
  • Any other duties as required.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education requirements
  • Master’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology and Information Systems, Finance or Management Sciences is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in combination with additional two years of experience may be accepted in lieu of master’s degree.
  • Secondary education in combination with additional six years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a master's degree.
Experience requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible, job-related experience in implementation of business systems and/or processes, preferably in an international development environment, is required. This experience should include at least 1 year working with Unit4 Business World configuration.            
  • Solid knowledge of the finance module in Unit4 Business World/Agresso
  • Demonstrated analytical and strategic skills to provide advice and improve processes or services for Finance. 
  • Substantial experience in preparation and analysis of financial reports to aid business divisions in decision making.
Language requirements
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of French and Spanish is an asset.
