We are looking for experienced Livelihoods Officer to be based Azraq Camp. The livelihood officer will provide in field support to the implementation of all activities related to livelihoods in Azraq refugee camp including market development, cash for work, and skills training

Who are we? 

DRC is an international non-governmental organization, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world. With the vision that no displaced person must be in want of help to find protection and durable solutions, DRC provides assistance and protection to conflict-affected in many of the major conflicts in Asia, Africa and Middle East. The assistance can consist of relief and other humanitarian aid, rehabilitation and support to returning home, and the promotion of durable solutions. 

About the job 

In the Azraq Camp in Jordan, the Livelihood Officer will closely monitor the quality of the activities and ensure close coordination with the authorities, other service providers and the community for the implementation of the activities.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Utilize the database of beneficiaries for livelihood and skills training activities
  • Recruitment of trainers and beneficiaries for trainings including information dissemination to relevant partners and through                 Community outreach
  • Conduct community outreach and mobilization for participation in DRC livelihood activities inside Azraq camp
  • Plan and coordinate required volunteers for livelihood activities with the Senior Livelihood Officer
  • Assist in the design and translation of informative materials as needed, including presentations, handouts, and exercises.
  • Provide regular financial literacy training to DRC livelihood beneficiaries.
  • Work with the senior livelihood officer to design new training and conduct outreach and registration for upcoming training                    courses.
  • Plan the procurement for all livelihood activities with support from the senior livelihood officer.
  • Assist in the evaluation of the small business grants proposals.

Required experience: 

  • 2-3 years of experience in similar position with an NGO. 
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Experience in community needs identification.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skill
  • Strong knowledge of the humanitarian context in Jordan

We offer 

DRC will offer the successful applicant a three months contract as probation period, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work on August 2017 and be willing and able to work in Azraq Camp-Jordan.
