Under the close supervision of the Innovation Specialist and Chief of Youth and Adolescents Development Section, the Programme Officer will support with strengthening the quality and scale up of the innovation labs.

Purpose of the job:

Under the close supervision of the Innovation Specialist and Chief of Youth and Adolescents Development Section, the Programme Officer will support with strengthening the quality and scale up of the innovation labs.

For every child, how can you make a difference?

  1. Provides sections and Innovation lab partners with technical assistance for the purpose of capacity building for partners and front line staff at innovation labs. This will include facilitating information exchange within partners/centers to increase knowledge sharing and mentoring for improved capacities.
  2. .Organize monthly “social innovation leaders’ lab meetings” targeted specifically at areas that could be beneficial to the Makani social innovation lab network. Report the main highlights, challenges and input arising from these meetings to the programme manager. Propose programme recommendations and next steps. Lead all material development and outreach to partners.
  3. Co-facilitate Innovation lab monthly meetings, including supporting the preparation of all data from innovation labs.
  4. Work with Innovation Specialist to design, implement, and scale the “post-programme opportunities” referral system, to connect good ideas and individuals identified through the labs to further opportunities.
  5. Ensure that technical trainings being implemented in the labs are high quality; and will lead to further opportunities available in Jordan.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Education: University degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Social Development, Social sciences or other relevant disciplines, with specialized training in programme monitoring and capacity building
  • Experience: Minimum one year of relevant professional work experience in the area of programme coordination, hands-on experience in supporting programme design, monitoring and evaluation of projects. Knowledge about the UN and NGO systems would be an advantage.  Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in handling of web based management systems. Field work experience (for NO) Background/familiarity with Emergency.
  • Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
