The objective of this assignment is to support capacity building of prospective social workers providing training package and conducting training program on “Basic concept and principles of social work with individuals (including children) and families”. The development of the training package needs to be guided by the internationally recognized principles and practices of social work and aligned with national framework on social services.

Purpose of the Assignment

The objective of this assignment is to support capacity building of prospective social workers providing training package and conducting training program on “Basic concept and principles of social work with individuals (including children) and families”.

 The development of the training package needs to be guided by the internationally recognized principles and practices of social work and aligned with national framework on social services.

Assignment Tasks

  1. Develop a training package (presentations and handouts) on “Basic concept and principles of social work with individuals (including children) and families” in Azerbaijani language which will include minimum:

    1. Theoretical basics of social welfare and social work;
    2. Social work with individuals (including children) and families;
    3. Ethical values and principles in social work;
    4. Social work interventions in Child protection system;
    5. Minimum standards of Case management to protect vulnerable children;
    6. Stages of case management;
    7. Cultural aspects of social work practice in Azerbaijan; 
  2. Conducting 5-days (minimum 30 hours) training program for each group from the local staff of MoLSPP with total 30 days for 6 groups.

Expected Deliverables

10 working days, by 4 September

1. Training package (presentations and handouts) on “Basic concept and principles of social work with individuals (including children) and families”

3 working days, by 14 September

2. Final version  of the Training package incorporating feedbacks from UNICEF

30 working days (plus 3 days travel), by  17 November

3. Conducting trainings on “Basic practices of social work with individuals (including children) and families” for 6 groups representing local branches of MoLSPP (3 in Baku and 3 in districs -Tovuz, Gabala, Masalli)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications of Successful Candidate

  • Advanced university degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Psychology,  Policy Analysis, Economics, or related field;
  • Minimum 5 years of consultancy experience (particularly as a trainer) in the area of Social Work, Social Services, and Social Policy;
  • Strong presentation skills and experience as a public speaker;
  • In depth knowledge of social work, social services and child protection,
  • Knowledge of poverty, deprivation and social exclusion issues; women and child related issues; social and economic aspects of well-being;
  • Ability to work in a team with tight deadlines;
  • Familiarity with UNICEF’s mission and mandate;
  • Fluency in Azerbaijani and English

The contract with national consultant will cover the period 21st August 2017 to 17th November 2017 with a total number of 43 working days with additional 3 days for travel.
