 Objectives:

To review and update the UNICEF Welcome Booklet to provide updated info in Beirut and the 5 field offices locations. Market Research and validation of existing information around new office premises in Achrafiyeh, Tripoli, Zahle, Qobayat and Tyre by assessing the areas from the services availability and accessibility to places and interests, etc.   

Background:

UNICEF LCO has scaled-up its operations in order to assist poor Lebanese, Palestinians and Syrians.  UNICEF’s workforce has grown more than 250 staff members in addition to visitors on short term and surge mission and donors visits.

International Professionals are part of the UNICEF LCO team, therefore, there is a need to review the Welcome Booklet, periodically, to provide information linked services.

Scope of Work:

To review and update the current Welcome Booklet developed by UNICEF LCO.

 

Identify main and basic services and provide guidance such as physical address phone and internet address on the main service availabilities in country in general and specifically in the 5 locations where UNICEF offices are based such as:

 

•           Visas Work Permit and links to government offices.

•           Driving licence guidance car registration government office.

•           Import / Export of personnel effect / household goods

•           Currency exchange and Banking criteria

•           Short term accommodation: Hotels, Furnished Apartments

•           Long term accommodation with guidance to real estate agencies.

•           Municipality and governmental taxes, including VAT and exemption policy.

•           Transportation system and public transportation mapping.

•           Map towards the 5 offices locations

•           Nannies and Nurseries.

•           Schools and Education System and links to private and public.

•           Universities links to private and public.

•           Cleaning services – House – Dry Cleaning – Laundry

•           Major Shopping Centres Services / providers.

•           Telecommunication system.

•           Electrical requirements.

•           Emergency information.

•           Lebanon at a glance: Geography, Climate, Government, Culture, languages, Society, Economy.

•           Leisure activities and best sites to visit

•           Zonal time clock.

 

Deliverables and Schedules:

Phase 1: 3 days

Plan Scope of work with HR/ Admin/ Supply/ Travel (2 days) and prepare the action plan of the mapping criteria / research for approval by supervisor.

 Phase 2: 4 days

Map the general country information as listed in the scope of business.

 Phase 3: 12 days

Assess Ashrafiyeh Area in services and their availability and proximity in the area such as:

Nearby living facilities, Restaurants, Hotels, Furnished Apartments, transportation, Mosques and Churches, Schools, Universities, Hospitals, Banks, Map towards the office, Transportation, etc... as listed in the scope of work.

Replicate same type of assessment to the five UNICEF field offices: Qobayat, Tripoli, Tyre, Zahleh and Mount Lebanon.

 Phase 4: 3 days

Documentation Guide plan with contact details for review

 Phase 5: 3 days

Report – Final product, Welcome Booklet

Timing:

25 Working days between 15 August till 29 September 2017

Reporting Requirements

Final report – UNICEF Welcome Booklet.

Profile Requirements

  • University studies in Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in Market research and analysis.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • Knowledge of the multi-cultural work environment.

Candidate to provide the all-inclusive financial and work plan methodology when applying.

Administrative Issues

Supervisor and certifying officer: HR Manager

It is a full time consultancy based in UNICEF Office in Beirut, with travel to field offices.

The consultant will bring his own laptop.

UNICEF will cover the DSA for travel when applicable.

UNICEF will assure transportation when visiting the field offices for assessment.

 

Payment will be issued following the below documents’ submission:

  • Final report ( UNICEF welcome Booklet)
  • Approved report by the supervisor
  • Certified invoice
