Under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the HR Consultant will support the HR Unit in the recruitment process for all posts.

Purpose of the Assignment

Under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the HR Consultant will support the HR Unit in the recruitment process for new posts, including; advertising positions, sourcing candidates, shortlisting (national and general service positions), facilitating approval processes, scheduling interviews, participating in interview panels, drafting recommendations, following up on references and academic verifications, compiling and submitting all documents for review and final approval and performing aforementioned actions as required within UNICEF’s online Talent Management System (TMS).

Assignment Tasks

  • Plan and oversee the organization of all recruitment for new roles and vacant positions, including carrying out the selection processes, coordination of recruitment panels, within KPIs established for level 2 Emergency, ensuring a fair and transparent process resulting in the selection of a diverse and qualified staff members.
  • Maintain HR data and analytics on all office recruitment.
  • Any other relevant tasks as requested by the HR Manager

Expected Deliverables

Support the completion of all recruitment for the implementation of the new Country Programme

Qualifications of Successful Candidate

  • Advanced university degree in social sciences or other relevant disciplines (human resources, business administration, international relations, psychology, etc.). Additional professional training an advantage; A first university degree with additional years of relevant work experience is acceptable in lieu of an advanced university degree.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant professional work experience, particularly in Recruitment and Selection process, is required;
  • Developing country work experience an asset;
  • Background/familiarity with Emergency;
  • Familiarity with UNICEF Talent Management System and/or e-recruitment systems is a strong asset.  
  • Fluency in French and English is required.
