The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 5000 committed and competent employees involved in projects across four continents. In addition, NRC runs one of the world’s largest standby rosters -NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours notice when a crisis occurs

NRC in Jordan 

Established in 2012 NRC Jordan’s long-term outlook addresses the problems affecting life as a refugee. We work to build the resilience of Syrians, and to relieve the impact on the Jordanian communities that host them.  Syrian refugees in Jordan are struggling. As they contend with difficult living conditions across the country, the obstacles are complex. They struggle to remain registered as refugees, to provide for their families, and to access essential services – including education for their children. The Jordanian communities that host them, meanwhile, feel the impact of hosting high numbers of refugees – with each year that passes, local infrastructure becomes more strained.

 

Role Specific Information

NRC is implementing projects in Mafraq, there is need of HR presence in the location. The staff will be the focal point for HR related matters and will report to HR in Amman. 

 

Generic responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Implement delegated support function portfolio according to plan of action
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of documents
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
  • Develops Monthly activity plans.
  • Provides assistance, information and to staff and managers on departments policies and procedures.
  • Identify, analyses and evaluate processes and gaps in the implementation of own activities and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitors compliance with NRC policies and procedures, handbooks and guidelines.

 

Specific responsibilities:

  • Provides messaging and rapid communication from Amman HR to location staff.
  • Responsible of maintaining HR database for location, provides information on request, and compiles information for HR reporting.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper documentation and filing for location (i.e. personnel files (hard and electronic files), attendance sheets, overtime, leave requests, etc)
  • Supports the location staff with issues related to social security and medical insurance.

  • Advise and support line managers in all HR processes, in coordination with the line Manager.
  • Records location level training events and all staff development plans, and submits to Amman HR / staff development.

  • Supervision of General Office Management.
  • Supervise the location Administration and cleaning staff and manage their work performance and schedules.
  • Ensure that maintenance work required for the office are carried out in a timely manner in coordination with the Administration staff
  • Any other related tasks as assigned by the line manager.

 

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a university graduate, with a minimum of 2 years previous experience in HR, familiar with social security, income tax and labour law.  Technical expertise relevant to the role. Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.  A good command of English, both written and verbal.

We are particularly looking for a positive individual with strong communication skills, who can build trust and confidently navigate both internally and externally at different levels.
