OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

The communicable Disease Cluster (CDS), which oversees the organization's response to; HIV, TB, Malaria, Hepatitis, Neglected tropical Diseases and Public Health and Environment, fully embraces the aims of the Transformation Agenda.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

1. To support the CDS Director in monitoring, timely reporting on and checking compliance with requirements of grants funded by institutional and private donors;2. Be responsible for tracking of all CDS grants; timely preparing and submitting grant reports and ensure the overall quality of grants documentation, in line with WHO standards of accounting and controls;3. To monitor expenditures and financial procedures on institutional grants and prepare financial reports according to the requirements;4. To manage, update and maintain a CDS grant database to ensure that all hardcopy and electronic documents for all grants are completed, filed and in order; undertake a weekly upload of relevant grant related information;5. Establish and maintain the reporting system of programmatic activity for donors and counterparts within the Programmes;6. Work closely with Programme Managers to ensure that programmatic aspects reflect the overall “intentionality” and objectives of the Programme, support the preparation of all the documentation to be provided to donors and related to reporting and checking reports' and project documentation accuracy;7. Liaise with theProgramme AdministrativeManager as needed, to ensure overall integrity of performance and submission of grant and budget amendments, if and as required and work collaboratively to increase effectiveness and accountability;8. To collaborate to the elaboration and implementation of resource mobilization and advocacy strategies. 9. To support the implementation of WHO Resolutions pertaining to donor grants management at the regional and country levels in a proactive manner;

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential\: University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Management or related field; or an equivalent combination of related education, training and professional experience -Highly computer literate and confident with Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and the Internet - Very good command of spoken and written English and/or French and/or Portuguese.
Desirable\: Experience in International global organizations would be an asset

Experience

Essential\: At least five years' experience working on grant management, budgeting and reportingExcellent knowledge of reporting requirements of major institutional donors -Working experience in developing countries; significant reporting and database experience, preferably with Microsoft Access;
Desirable\: Relevant experience in WHO, UN or other international organizations.

REMUNERATION

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 58,583 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 2465 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
