Job Purpose

The National Officer, Midwifery Analyst (NOA) facilitates the work of consultants, advisors, and experts; and establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with counterparts in government, multilateral and bilateral donor agencies and civil society to address emerging issues for mainstreaming human rights and gender equality into programme delivery.  S/He must effectively influence counterparts from diverse backgrounds to jointly contribute to achieving UNFPA’s mandate. S/He is a substantive contributor to the program team in the country office.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • Qualified Midwife with a Master’s degree or Diploma in Midwifery in relevant fields such as Public Health, Community Health and Development, Nursing etc.

Experience and Knowledge

  • At least 3-5 years professional experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in midwifery service, midwifery education and training and/or administration/regulation in the public or private sector, and Midwifery Technical Advisers;
  • Knowledge and experience in program management, including budget management is desirable;
  • Prior experience of working in multi-stakeholder environment including NGOs, bilateral and multilateral agencies;
  • Familiarity with the Mauritania Health System is an added advantage;
  • Proven skills in the current use of office software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) are also required.

Language(s):

  • Fluency in French;
  • Mastery of English;
  • Arabic is an asset.
