About the job:

 

Under supervision of CFS the Job holder is required to support/assist on Building the capacity of and empower community-based CFS facilitators to deliver quality recreational activities to vulnerable children and caregivers. And also monitor and implement daily child friendly activities at DRC Community Center CIMS in Kandahar.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Support the identification of safe spaces to provide Child Friendly Spaces (CFS) that adhere to the quality checklists for center-based and outreach activities
  • Identify vulnerable children and caregivers in need of CFS
  • Identify Community Focal Points and members of Community Based Groups to deliver CFS recreation activities as facilitators
  • Support the coaching, mentoring and training to CFS community volunteers during a 3 month training program.
  • Support the delivery of child friendly activities to children and caregivers as part of the CFS. Facilitators 3 month training and coaching program. Successively handing over the direct facilitation of sessions to the community volunteer
  • After the 2-3 month training period, with the community volunteers, determine the readiness of the community Facilitator to implement independently
  • Once facilitators are assessed as ready to implement independently; observe CFS Facilitators’ implementation on a monthly basis, providing feedback and updating the training and coaching plan accordingly together with the CFS Facilitator
  • Submit the training and coaching plan to the CFS Officer for review on a monthly basis
  • Provide capacity building to CFS Facilitators on facilitation skills, adult and child learning and development basic principles and developing new sessions throughout the year using the methodology and incorporating key CP and GBV messages as necessary
  • Provide training, coaching and mentoring to the CFS Facilitators to adapt activities and methodologies and take the needed steps to include children with special needs
  • Identify and refer children and caregivers in need of case management to CP or GBV case management on a regular basis
  • Identify and refer children and caregivers at high risk or engaged in child labor
  • Ensure the proper documentation of data collected (hard and soft copies) during CFS activities (attendance sheets, permission slips, parental consent, referrals etc.)
  • Support the logistics and procurement processes needed for the implementation of CFS activities
  • Maintain positive relations with local implementing actors, local authorities and other international and local stakeholders;
  • Closely coordinating with other relevant staff on protection issues (in all departments).
  • Perform any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the CFS Officer and the Protection Coordinator

 

About you

 

To be successful in this role you must have:

 

Education & Qualification

 

  • Graduated from related social study faculty – or High secondary school with strong CFS background,
  • Volunteering experience in social work, teaching, child development or other related field
  • Good  knowledge of child protection and GBV and PSS basic principles
  • Good  knowledge of child development and adult learning techniques
  • Good  communication and psychosocial first aid,
  • Good facilitation skills
  • Good knowledge of CP and GBV case management principles
  • Ability to work flexible working hours

 

Experience:

 

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in provision of Psychosocial support activities with children and caregivers
  • At least 1 year experience providing coaching, training and mentoring on PSS activities with children and caregivers

 

Languages:

 

  • Professionally understand (read and write) Pashto and Dari.
  • Good  understand of English (Communication and writing skills)

We offer:

 

  • DRC-DDG will offer the successful applicant a contract till March 2018.
  • Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for national staff. This position will be placed at salary Grade E, level 1, basic 480 USD.
