About the Danish Refugee Council
Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a private, independent, humanitarian organization working on all aspects of the refugee cause in more than thirty countries throughout the world. The aim of DRC is to protect refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) against persecution and to promote durable solutions to the problems of forced migration on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights. DRC works in accordance with the UN Conventions on Refugees and the Code of Conduct for the ICRC and NGOs in Disaster Relief.
DRC has been operating in the West Africa/Central Mediterranean region for over 15 years, running a combination of emergency, livelihood, protection and advocacy programmes through Country Offices (COs) in Guinea, Liberia, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Nigeria, Libya, and Tunisia, and a Regional Office (RO) in Abidjan. DRC has 20 offices and more than 500 staff members across the WA region.
About the Consortium
DRC has recently established a consortium based response designed for migration to be safer and more orderly, along the West Africa/Central Mediterranean routes with the goal of limiting suffering and reducing deaths en route.
The consortium, led by DRC, will also comprise IRC and START Network, and will feature a ground-breaking flexible humanitarian response to the current migration crisis.
The consortium coordination unit will be based in Tunis but will cover activities throughout West and North Africa implemented by consortia member agencies and national implementing partners; with activities in the following locations:
Transit Countries: Burkina Faso, Mali, Libya, Niger, Tunisia
Contingency Capacity: Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Cameroon, Chad, Sudan
About the Job
Under the supervision of the CCU Head of Programme, the Grants Management Officer will support the Consortium Coordination Unit (CCU) by contributing to reporting, development of projects and tools, translation and writing of assessments, reports and proposals.
Main duties and Responsibilities
Reporting, project development and quality assistance
- Support collection of data and liaison with field/country offices in writing of reports and
- -visibility material in close collaboration with relevant CCU staff
- Translation and proofreading of tools, reports and other documents needed in both French and English
- With Programme Lead, develop and enhance standard procedures and tools used to manage the grant
- In line with the Programme Lead, ensure that Country Offices comply with DFID guidelines Classification of project documentation (physical & electronic)
- Track and update project documents using the Grants Management System (GMS)
- Assist the monitoring and evaluation team
- Following the Programme Lead and in collaboration with regional and HQ communications staff, support in use of communication tools and documents
- Perform any other tasks and ad hoc needs as deem necessary by the CCU
- Master degree in the Social, Humanitarian, Development, Law, Political Science, International Relations field, or any other area related to DRC activities
- Fluent written and spoken in English and French
- Work experience in an international NGO with Grants Management and quality assistance experience
- Solid organizational and coordination skills to enable rapid adaptability to varying work situations
- Ability to deal with several deadlines and processes at the same time
- Ability to maintain a global overview while paying attention to detail
- Practical knowledge in Excel, Word, Outlook
- Team spirit and ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with work colleagues; Exposure to work or life in post conflict zone; Ability to work under pressure

We offer
National Contract: 2 years – (renewable depending on budget and performance)
Duty Station: Tunis, Tunisia with professional field travels in West Africa Region countries and MENA countries.
Designation of Duty Station: Non Accompanied position
