We are seeking a Director of Human Resources Business Partnerships who will be responsible for providing guidance, consultation and direction in the areas of employee relations, organizational development, team effectiveness and organizational design. S/he will partner with different businesses to determine their key needs and to make sure those are addressed with the support of other P&C areas or other parts of the organization.

The Director of Human Resources Business Partnerships will act as a trusted advisor on all HR initiatives, this role operates in deep partnership to the business in a wide dimension of capacities and will partner with senior executives and managers to develop and drive plans that optimize talent, structure, process, and culture across the organization.

Working with others through the organization, she/he will manage and communicate CARE's Human Resources employee policies and procedures, ensuring they comply with state and federal regulations in the US. Also, and in strong partnership with IPO and through the HR generalists, the Director of Business Partnerships will be responsible to ensure compliance with local HR laws in our countries of operation.

To be successful in this role, he/she will need to lead with a people-first approach; be passionate about Human Resources as a key function to business success and a demonstrated ability to translate strong business acumen to HR strategies and successful HR/people programs.

Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for setting direction and priorities to the team, focusing on enhancing HR policies as well as on creating a culture of customer service.
  • Provides highly experienced vision and input on HR business practices, in change management processes, restructures, workforce planning and employee relations.
  • Work in close collaboration with other areas of People and Culture, to ensure that client needs, as well as organizational business needs, are met and addressed.
  • Engage with senior-level executives (EMT) to discuss the organizational People agenda and support their specific change and transition needs.
  • Collaborate with Human Resource teams throughout the organization (CI, COs,) to identify best practices. Share knowledge and work together to create a world-class People and Culture function.
  • Partner with the People and Culture leadership team to proactively discuss opportunities to address workforce development programs.
  • Oversee employee relations, providing support to management teams to ensure consistency and fairness in addressing organizational policy and procedures. Coach senior Managers on any performance issues and assists with resolutions, ensuring appropriate and timely corrective action.
  • Bring close support to members of the GMT on any employee relations matters, in direct connection with the specific HR generalist.
  • Work closely with the Office of the General Counsel to examine/mediate internal employee/management-related problems or staff grievances and recommend appropriate action to resolve disputes. Serve as point of contact for internal and external legal counsel and consult as needed regarding strategies for managing non-routine cases. Conduct internal investigations as required.
  • Ensure excellence and consistency in the implementation of all programs in compliance with all applicable laws and policies. Work in close collaboration with the Legal and Operations units as well as the Director of HR Global services to ensure CARE is in compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and international laws relating to hiring, terminations, employment contracts, compensation, benefits, relocation and prerequisite programs including, but not limited to FLSA, OFCCP, Title VII, FICA, ERISA, FMLA and related regulations.

Education/ Training

  • Bachelor's degree in business-related field
  • SPHR or GPHR Certification
  • Desired: MBA or related degree

Qualifications

  • Five years’ management experience within the field of Human Resources with a progressive focus on employee relations in a large organization.
  • Understanding of current HR trends, practices and theories.
  • Working knowledge of HR related legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) required, including the ability to provide briefing and training to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead change.
  • Ability to think conceptually, creatively and strategically. International experience. Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally as needed.

Desired

  • 10 years of management in a Human Resource professional capacity
  • Previous experience working in a developing country
  • Fluency in French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic
