OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

The Coordinated Resource Mobilization unit was established in response to the recommendations of the Task Force on Resource Mobilization and Management Strategies and at the request of Member States and partners, to strengthen coordinated resource mobilization in WHO. CRM leads a global coordinated resource mobilization network to foster strategic, consistent and coordinated resource mobilization in support of WHO's Programme Budget. In so doing it promotes the principles of (i) alignment of funding to WHO's Programme Budget, (ii) predictability and flexibility of funding, (iii) reducing the vulnerability of WHO's funding and (iv) transparency of WHO's findings.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Summary of Assigned Duties\:

Under the direction of the Director Strategic Engagement, working closely with Financing Campaign project team members and other teams involved in the Campaign, the Project Officer will\:

1. Provide executive support to the Director of Strategic Engagement.

2. Support the implementation of the various components of the FC work plan, including monitoring of activities and budget to ensure timely provision of key deliverables.

3. In collaboration with the team, monitor progress against Financing Dialogue 2017 objectives and compile data for management.

4. Coordinate the timely dissemination of information to the various teams supporting the planning of the Financing Campaign.

5. Draft various internal and external communications/materials as assigned, including communications to the various teams, invitations to contributors, meeting reports, presentations.

6. Coordinate the planning of external meetings, including setting the agenda, fixing the time of the visits, preparing the background materials and ensuring the timely preparation of the WHO delegations.

7. Support the preparation and smooth running of the Financing Campaign events. 8. Perform other relevant duties as designated by the Director.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential\: Bachelor's degree in health or social sciences, or business or public administration
Desirable\: Advanced degree in international relations or related field.

Experience

Essential\: At least two years of combined national and international professional experience in project management and/or policy analysis and development in the field of public health. Experience in organizing multi-stakeholders meetings and working with donors.
Desirable\: Some years of experience either in WHO HQ or regional/country office, or other UN organizations. Experience in strategic communications.

Skills

Impeccable writing skills. Track record of working with multiple stakeholders

Knowledge of the UN system.

REMUNERATION

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 46,026 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 3233 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
