SCA Background

The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) has been working in Afghanistan since 1982, presently managing development programmes concerning Health, Education, Rural Livelihoods and Community Governance, with a total annual budget of roughly USD 40 million. The total number of staff is around 5,500. During the last 10 years SCA has undertaken a change process moving from a primarily humanitarian service delivery approach towards more of a developmental role, putting increasing emphasis on capacity development, rights-based programming and outcome orientation. The mission of SCA is to empower individuals, communities and local organizations, primarily in rural areas and with particular focus on women, girls, boys and vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, so that they may participate fully in society and influence their own development. Scope of work:

The logistic supplier is based at one of the regional management office of SCA. He conducts supply of goods and salary to the project sites in the provinces covered by the RMO. He will ensure approximate budget for transport of goods and salary and be good at maintaining good relations with local authorities. The logistic supplier reports to the logistic officer of Administration unit of RMO.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum 12 grade graduation. Higher education is preferred.
• At least 2 year experiences in similar position with NGOs or other UN organizations.
• Have enough local knowledge in the area of operations.
•   Fluent in Dari, Pashto written and spoken, basic English reading and writing is also required.
• Honest, active and well mannered.
•  Ready to work, live and travel in an intricate and strenuous environment

Main Responsibilities:

• Act according to the policy and regulations of SCA.
• Promote an attitude of team spirit and a strong quality
• Develop good co-operation with SCA units and local Authorities.
• Do related job as delegated by the logistic officer.
• To supervise and organize supply teams and guide them for secure and timely delivery of goods, salaries and other items to project sites.
• To ensure proper handling of goods while on transit to project sites.
• To keep updated on security matters at the local level and assess possibilities and limitations of supply due to security, weather conditions, etc. and advice the logistic officer.
• To assist other logistic staff in packing and loading of goods and materials prior to supply.
• To handle salary distribution with outmost care and clear imprest and financial deliveries with finance unit immediate upon return from supply.
• To do any relevant duties assigned by the logistic officer.
