MEL Assistant in Mafraq. The successful candidate will fulfill M&E responsibilities including, but not limited to: assessments in beneficiary homes, exit interviews at dialogue tables, cash for work baseline, monitoring and endline interviews, telephone interviews, and qualitative data collection such as FGDs, in order to ensure high quality of assistance and continual learning.  
 
 
 
About the job 
 
• The individual will report directly to Monitoring and Evaluation Field Coordinator (Amman-based). Your main duties and responsibilities will be: 
 
• Support in conducting participatory monitoring activities with DRC beneficiaries to get information and feedback on the quality and relevance of assistance; this will involve conducting interviews and surveys at the community centre, GIZ work sites, hosting focus group discussions and regularly undertaking field vists to conduct household interviews, home visits and key informant interviews; 
• Support the MEL officer in testing and reviewing data collection methodology and tools; 
• Participate in assessment tool and methodology trainings and kick-off meetings; 
• Support entry of MEL data as required; 
• Support in note-taking at FGDs/interviews and transcribing any recordings; 
• Adhere to all DRC data protection policies and data collection SOPs; 
• Identify and refer/report individuals with special needs, protection concerns, and any problems with DRC services to the M&E Field Coordinator and relevant program staff, as well as conducting interviews/surveys to monitor the quality of referral services provided; 
• Ensure accurate data collection, data entry and upload as well as basic analysis of information; 
• Ensure timely reporting on monitoring activities in line with work plans and project timeline; 
• Provide regular verbal and written feedback on field observations and monitoring findings to the M&E Field Coordinator and relevant program staff; 
• Work closely with the other DRC project staff, to coordinate who should be included in data collection activities and to maintain a strong programmatic understanding; 
• Facilitate and participate in learning events and mainstreaming of learning throughout the projects; 
• Build and maintain good working relations with staff from DRC base and other bases; 
• Other tasks as assigned by the MEL Field Coordinator.  
 
 
About you 
 
the MEL Assistant will be responsible for implementing timely and quality monitoring of the GIZ, UNHCR, GAC and MADAD projects – as well as any new projects run from the Mafraq base. 
 
Moreover, we also expect the following:  
 
Required / Desirable 
• Bachelor Degree in industrial engineering, social sciences, information management or other relevant area 
• the candidate should have at least 2 years of relevant work experience, including at least 1 year in M&E specifically – preferably in social work, community development, non-governmental organizations, or civil society. 
• Knowledge/experience with M&E specifically, information management or accountability. Skilled in all MS Office applications (particularly Excel). Basic knowledge of data analysis practices and tools.  
• Experience working with NGOs and/or the humanitarian sector, and use of data collection tools such as Kobo collect. 
• Arabic (Fluent)and English (Very good)

Contract length: 6 month contract including three months as probation period, renewable based on both funding and performance.
