Position Summary:
The Research Field Team Coordinator coordinates a team of in-country researchers to engage effectively with communities and to collect information in an accurate and timely manner.
Reporting & Supervision:
The Research Field Team Coordinator reports to the deputy research manager and supervises a team of in-country field researchers.
Primary Responsibilities:
Management Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage in-country researchers within each allotted geographical area of responsibility through Skype and other means on a daily basis. Manage and coordinate interactions between the in-country researchers and research officers.
- Provide mentoring and on-going capacity building to researchers.
- Ensure that in-country researchers have the knowledge, understanding and skills required of the programme to engage effectively with communities.
- Support the implementation of work plans, deliverables for each researcher in the area of responsibility.
- Train researchers and prepare courses for needed trainings
- Manage all administrative tasks related to the in-country researchers, including ensuring that their time sheets are filled out properly and that they are paid in a timely manner.
Oversee Data Collection
- Oversee and assure the quality of data collected by the in-country researchers and field officers by triangulating information to verify the validity of reports.
- Support efforts to gather community atmospherics through technical assistance (as necessary) to in-country researchers and field officers.
- Ensure the timely collation of all atmospherics findings.
Analysis and Reporting
- Provide feedback to the in-country researchers on the atmospherics data collected.
- Provide recommendations to the research officer responsible for atmospherics on whether the atmospherics data meets community engagement criteria.
- Provide recommendations on whether the atmospherics data collected supports the decision to engage with a community.
- Analyse and develop findings on community atmospherics data collected by in-country researchers and field officers.
Research Support
- Develop workplans with the research officers and the deputy research manager that detail activities, timelines, and deliverables in the creation and implementation of this research.
- Coordinate with the research officers in the development of the tools for alignment and quality assurance purposes.
- Ensure the deliverables are quality assured before it is submitted to the deputy research manager.
- Assure timely submission of all deliverables.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- College degree (advanced degree is desirable) in a field related to international development, with specific focus on information management, project management, or other relevant academic background;
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in research, reporting, writing, and monitoring
- Demonstrated capacity to produce high-quality briefs and reports in both Arabic and English;
- Demonstrated ability to train and build capacity of others;
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office package;
- Strong personal organization, interpersonal and communication skills;
- Bilingual in English and Arabic with excellent Arabic and English writing and speaking skills;
- Experience working on U.S. Government or European Union-funded programs preferred.
- This position is for Jordanian and Syrian nationals with excellent Arabic and English skills in both writing and speaking
- Able to work with cross-border projects either in private sector, NGOs or International organization.
- Valid work authorization for Jordan
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous managerial experience preferred
