Organizational Setting

The Division of Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Waste Technology (NEFW) comprises the Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Materials Section, the Waste Technology Section, the Decommissioning & Environmental Remediation Section and the Research Reactor Section. The Division seeks to support Member States in building their capacity to access technologies, to share good practices and to develop safe and effective approaches across all aspects of research reactors, nuclear fuel cycle, decommissioning, radioactive waste management and environmental remediation.



Main Purpose

The Electronic Tools Coordination Officer manages the continuous improvement and maintenance of collaboration tools, eLearning material and web-based platforms, supports Network Secretaries in promoting the efficient and effective usage of collaboration tools and in establishing harmonized approaches to the development and provision of content. The Electronic Tools Coordination Officer develops and implements training programmes for the use of these tools for the benefit of internal and external users and provides communication co-ordination across the range of Professional Networks and eLearning owners.


Role

The Electronic Tools Coordination Officer is\:
(1) a programme implementer and coordinator, contributing expertise to the planning and implementation of the Agency's programme with respect to development and continuous improvement of the eLearning, web-based portals and collaboration platforms, including CONNECT – with a focus on functionality of these tools;
(2) a project officer, leading moderately complex projects in cooperation Technical Cooperation (TC);
(3) a communication coordinator, communicating and supporting the use of collaboration tools, including the CONNECT platform and learning management systems, among Network participants and other interested users in Member States, and coordinates the effective communication and promotion of Professional Network activities among all participants, and more broadly.


Functions / Key Results Expected

- Coordinate the continuous improvement and maintenance of the web-based tools including the CONNECT platform by gathering feed-back from scientific secretaries and users and developing a coherent programme of improvements, with a focus on functionality and on “design and feel” of the tools. Ensure regular review of content for their possible obsolescence.
- Monitor, improve and support updating of NEFW information on IAEA public and password-protected websites.
- Support internal and external users through technical assistance, training modules, tutorials, and issues tracking.
- Ensure corporate branding and other visual standards are implemented consistently, and ensure proper quality review of Network contents and eLearning materials.
- Coordinate with Scientific Secretaries to identify the e-learning map for the division (high level material and structured materials). Support the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of e-learning content.
- Coordinate the development of proper governance principles and procedures of electronic tools and networks and ensure their implementation.
- Prepare communication materials and implement the promotion plan of the electronic tools (and other relevant activities).
- Gather analytics and other data on the use of electronic tools and propose/support actions to improve the usage of e-tools.

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills

- Bachelor's Degree - University degree (or equivalent) in engineering, science, business administration, international relations, or a related field of study.

 

- Minimum of five years of working experience in an area related to project management and information and/or knowledge management, including involvement at the international level.

- Previous work in projects supporting knowledge management activities in education and training is a strong asset.

- Experience in working with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.

 

- Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.


Remuneration

The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $59151 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $ 29398, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; 6 weeks' annual vacation, home leave, pension plan and health insurance
