Our high-impact approach brings people together to share skills, build capabilities, promote international understanding and action to change lives and make the world a fairer place.

Role overview

A leading international development organisation are looking to recruit a Resourcing Advisor to support volunteers taking part in the DFID funded International Citizen Service Programme (ICS). Working with a diverse group of volunteers during the preparation, departure and resettlement phases of their journey will mean occasional weekend work will be required.

Skills, qualifications and experience

You will have strong interpersonal skills with a customer focussed approach, attention to detail and the ability to manage your time effectively. The role will deliver training events so facilitation skills would be advantageous. The ICS programme is a global programme, with high volumes of candidates and tight deadlines so experience of this programme or similar would be beneficial but not required.

At VSO, our six 'People First' principles are critical behaviours to how we recruit people in VSO. Examples are:

* Development is 'people-centred'
* Decisions are evidence-based
* Programmes must be appropriate and effective
* Actions are backed by strong reflective practices
* Plans are worked out collaboratively
* Decisions must be accountable

Being the ideal candidate in the above behaviours, you are excellent at being resilient and adaptive to new situations and new information; able to work with teams to facilitate positive change and forge high performing working relationships; you are also able to develop, seek and share knowledge in right time with right people; you are proactive, compassionate and empathetic to how you approach your work.

Highly organised with excellent administration skills and able to prioritise conflicting deadlines.
