The Senior Engagement Manager will be responsible for building a positive relationship with the various stakeholders of the ECM project, ensuring that our relationships with stakeholders are strong, profitable and enduring; and for supporting the implementation of ECM Document Management System (DMS) and Digital Work Place (DWP) throughout UNICEF.

The Enterprise Content Management (ECM) project’s goal is to take a systemic approach that introduces and institutionalizes Electronic Content Management (including systems, policies, procedures, standards, guidance, and governance), providing improved document and records management and retention, improved search functionality, strengthened archives management, a new digital preservation capability, content reuse and repurposing, and collaboration across UNICEF.

The project also seeks to reduce risks, improve usability of tools, provide significant cost and time savings, enable new organizational capabilities and comply with several audit recommendations. These goals will be implemented in keeping with the organizational strategy and information management requirements of stakeholders in various business areas.

This position will sit within the Information and Communications Technology Division (ICTD) at UNICEF NYHQ. The incumbent will join as part of the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) team and will report to the Senior Project Manager.

 

How can you make a difference?

Under the general guidance of the ECM Senior Project Manager, the Senior Engagement Manager will be responsible for building a positive relationship with the various stakeholders of the ECM project, ensuring that our relationships with stakeholders are strong, profitable and enduring; and for supporting the implementation of ECM Document Management System (DMS) and Digital Work Place (DWP) throughout UNICEF.

In this capacity, the need to project the image of a credible, reliable, and analytical initiative taker is imperative to the quality of the engagement approach, and the impact of the work will directly reflect on the overall implementation of the ECM platforms.

Key responsibilities:

Engagement

  • Lead and maintain the engagement of all UNICEF staff in the ECM Project deliverables
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and business owners of the ECM Project
  • Ideate, define and prioritize work to be done on behalf of ECM project stakeholders
  • Ensure execution of work with appropriate oversight throughout the process

Training & Design

  • Work directly with the Senior Project Manager – ECM to ensure the ECM project is fully institutionalized within UNICEF
  • Manage the training and communication outputs to ensure alignment and outreach

Communication

  • Communicate with key stakeholders to proactively ensure organizational understanding of the project outcomes
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication of status, issues and risks associated with work being executed

Capacity Building

  • Support the Senior Project Manager – ECM in capacity building to ensure long term sustainability.

 

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree in communication or related field. A first university degree in a relevant field combined with ten years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: information management, training, change management, content management, project management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a large-scale content management project.
  • Understanding of international development issues and previous experience with a multilateral or UN organization is a strong asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
