Plan International UK strives to advance children’s rights and equality for girls all over the world. Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.

The Policy and Programmes Directorate supports our aims by ensuring that we deliver the highest quality policy and programmes. We constantly enhance programme quality and effectiveness, raise income from institutional donors (like the British Government), and drive change through setting and influencing policy agendas.

We are recruiting a Grants Finance Accountant to support our Development Programmes Unit with the management of the budgetary and financial aspects, including reporting, compliance and risk, as relates to donor-funded grants and contracts.

This support will cover the entire award lifecycle, from proposal/bid stage, through to contracting, delivery, reporting, audit and close-out, in order to ensure that each stage is carried out to as high a standard as possible. This will include assisting with the development of programme proposal budgets, budget modifications and contract revisions, reviewing and consolidating donor financial reports, supporting the completion of due diligence assessments, and helping build the capacity of Plan International colleagues to ensure compliance with donor regulations and broader requirements. This will include travel for up to 15-20 days per year to Country Offices to support projects.

You will have significant experience in a finance related role. Whilst it would be desirable to have experience working in an INGO environment, this is not essential. We would like a candidate with an interest in the sector and the agility to promptly pick up on donor specific rules, regulations and requirements as relate to budgeting, financial management, compliance and reporting requirements. You will either hold, or be working towards, a CCAB recognised qualification.

The deadline for applications is 9:00am on Monday 9 July 2018

Interviews will take place on Monday 16 July 2018

Due to the nature of our work with children, we follow rigorous child protection policies and procedures in our recruitment process. As a result, some of our roles are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as an employee or volunteer; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences.
