Consultant - Registration Officer (Job Code RO-H)

Project Duration is from October 2018 to December 2018. Contract to be renewed further based on performance and project extension.

Job responsibilities
  • Determination of any new arrivals, capture change in address, in and out migration and update records.
  • Register asylum seekers on a timely manner
  • Maintain and update database for registration.
  • Filling online forms for FRRO Registration 
  • Responsible for ID distribution and return of unclaimed IDs to UNHCR
  • Conduct functions related to file renewal
  • Assist in monitoring the refugee situation including refugee movements in the camp and other locations.
  • Shall be responsible for the outreach of PoCs - Rohingya and Non-Rohingya Refugees.
  • Respond to UNHCR requisition for Home visits with priority to the most urgent demands from the POCs.
  • Identify PWSN (People With Special Needs) and recommend for support.
  • Support RSD processes and facilitate PoC as per the need  
  • Conduct Meetings with PoCs, Local host community welfare associations in the locality as sensitization and garner their support.
  • Conduct awareness meetings and programs for PoCs on issues affecting them.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly work plans and ensure the plan flow
  • Maintaining field records. Support SC in data collection and collation and project M&E
  • Support PO in compilation and timely submission of project reports as per the institutional/donor requirements
  • Support organization in building Save the Children’s profile as the leading advocate for the rights of the children in the target district/s.
  • Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as and when assigned in the best interest of the children
Professional Qualifications & Experience
  • Masters degree in Law, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Humanities, from a recognised university
  • 2-3 years working knowledge/experience in functional areas of Law, refugee registration/legalities and counseling, biometrics
  • Collaborative work with government departments could be preferred.  
  • Knowledge on Indian legalities (Acts, policies, Sections), legalities pertaining to refugee protection, child protection and developmental aspects
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills
  • Self-motivated & ability to work in a team
  • Should have good working skills in computer
  • Willingness to travel in and around the target area
