Background/IRC Summary: Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. At work today in around 30 countries, the IRC restores safety, dignity and hope to millions who are uprooted and struggling to endure. The IRC leads the way from harm to home. The Syria crisis is often described as the worst humanitarian catastrophe since the end of the Cold War. Inside Syria, 7.6 people are internally displaced and 12.2 million are in need of humanitarian assistance. There are more than 4 million Syrian refugees living in neighboring countries. This is no short- term humanitarian episode. The devastating human consequences to huge numbers of people will endure for decades. The destruction of relationships, communities, livelihoods, homes and infrastructure will take years to repair. The IRC is offering a robust humanitarian response to the Syria crisis. The Jordan country program, with a current budget of almost $27 million, operates in Jordan. This position will be dedicated to Jordan health program overseeing the implementation of health program for refugees inside Jordan. Job Overview/Summary: The Health Manager Camps, during the period of this assignment, will be responsible for management of the IRC Primary and Reproductive Health Care interventions in Zaatari and Refugee camps in Jordan. The Health Manager Camps is also responsible, in collaboration with other IRC programs (WPE, ERD and CP), of the effective integration of health program with other sectors in the refugee camps. Under supervision and technical support from Health Coordinator the overall responsibilities of the position include budget holding responsibility for the IRC health grants in the refugee camps, improvement of the quality of care provided by the clinics, assuring the standardization of treatment protocols, and other quality assurance activities; planning and coordination of health services in IRC’s different health facilities in close collaboration with other departments and active participation and coordination in health assessments and project proposals; to take the lead in building the capacity of national staff - support the training, mentoring and supervision of health workers on health related topics. Other Internal and/or external contacts Internal: Health Program Manager, Community Health Manager, Deputy Health Manager Operations, Filed manager at Mafraq, WPE, ERD and CP managers, finance and supply chain departments External:Relevant stakeholders including UNHCR, UNFPA, MoH and INGO.

Qualifications
Working Environment: The position is based in Mafraq with frequent visits to Zaatari and Azraq refugee camps; standard office work environment. Living standards are good and the security situation is calm and stable but this could change. This position is an unaccompanied post. The IRC and IRC workers must adhere to the values and principles outlined in IRC Way - Standards for Professional Conduct. These are Integrity, Service, and Accountability.
