Project Partner Relations Manager (m/f)
in Bamako
The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration until October 31, 2020. Employment location will be Bamako, Mali (ML).
The main aim of the position is to support the Project Manager in the coordination of this complex project with particular focus on the consortium partners and their respective project components. Under the overall supervision of the Project Manager, the incumbent is expected to independently handle clearly defined areas of the project coordination and to replace the Project Manager when absent.
Your responsibilities
- Coordinates the national project partners’ training and capacity-building activities targeting workforce, infrastructure maintenance committees, local authorities, construction companies and technical State services;
- Ensures high quality of training tools and results through establishment of a system for pre-training needs assessment and post-training evaluation;
- Oversees the harmonisation of partners’ Monitoring & Evaluation plans and activities towards an integrated approach, particularly to meet donor requirements for baseline, mid-term and endline evaluation studies;
- Contributes to continuous project planning and preparation of progress reports and steering committee meetings;
- Provides ongoing inputs of the project to the follow-up/implementation of the two-year Mali Country Programme;
- Networks with other organisations/projects delivering training & capacity-building in Mali;
- Facilitates knowledge exchange with relevant thematic units in Welthungerhilfe’s HQ in order to capitalise from, and to feed-back into, the organisation’s worldwide experience;
- Participates in developing concepts for upscaling the project’s work beyond its duration.
Your profile
- Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, law or other relevant field
- Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in project implementation with proven expertise in working with local partner organisations in the context of developing countries
- Strong intercultural understanding/sensitivity
- Proven record in training, capacity- and team-building as well as conflict management
- Solid skills in Monitoring & Evaluation and report-writing
- Fluency in French (speaking and writing) and English
- Familiarity with countries in crisis
- Hands-on knowledge of Mali and West Africa would be an asset
