The position is placed in the Finance and Grants Unit in International Programmes and Preparedness of the Norwegian Red Cross in Oslo.  The Finance and Grants Unit provides effective, relevant and timely finance support to the department, including quality assurance and compliance towards NorCross and back donors' financial and administrative regulations. Donor coordinators liaise with and handle relevant contact with back-donors.  
 
The purpose of the position is to ensure a good and streamlined strategic dialogue and cooperation with NORAD, in order to ensure predictable and sustainable funding towards NorCross international programmes. The coordinator for NORAD and private funds is also the main contact point with the Income department on collected funding (corporate donors and regular donors) earmarked for international programmes.  

Other important donors or institutional partnerships might become part of the portfolio as per need.  
 
 
Main tasks and responsibilities 
  • Facilitate good communication and constructive collaboration with NORAD as well as within Norwegian Red Cross towards NORAD. Advise on better strategies for improving communication /visibility/ results vis a vis NORAD. 
  • Oversee and quality assure the strategic dialogue with NORAD. This includes coordinating and preparing for strategic dialogue, information sharing and meetings for NorCross and its partners with the donors.  
  • Guide the organization in relation to changes in the grant management based on NORADs reform process, if relevant.  
  • Coordinate and quality assure application processes to NORAD in close cooperation with other relevant stakeholders. 
  • Manage relevant grant or partnership agreements between NorCross and NORAD. 
  • Liaise closely with the NorCross Income department regarding priorities for fundraising  with private and corporate donors. Keep an overview of available collected funding for the department, and advise on disbursements and reporting requirements.  
  • Actively contribute to application and reporting processes with a special focus on the NORAD grant and private/corporate funds. 
  • Monitor and provide guidance to the organization on donor related requirements, opportunities and challenges.  
  • Ensure that relevant parties within NorCross have necessary and updated information to fulfil their duties according to donor requirements and standards. 
  • Provide timely analysis of issues related to donor relations  
  • Represent the Norwegian Red Cross in relevant meetings and fora in Norway and internationally  
 
We are searching for a person with the following qualities:  
  • University degree in relevant Field 
  • 4 years relevant work experience, in fields such as humanitarian/development assistance, fundraising, results-based management, project management, research, advocacy and humanitarian diplomacy. Relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal training.       
  • Thorough understanding of and experience in working with governmental donors  
  • Financial management/administrative experience  
  • Experience with strategic (donor) relationship management  
  • Strong analytic skills 
  • Ability to create and maintain useful networks within and outside the movement  
  • Fluency in English and Norwegian. Other languages are an asset.  
  • Very good ability to cooperate and share competency  
  • Very good ability to communicate effectively  
  • Very good ability to build networks and relations       
  • Very good ability to take initiative and accept responsibility for results
