As UNICEF is increasing the focus on business as a channel to expertise, audiences and innovation, we need to increase the focus on working with them at speed, in high quality and with ambitious, well-articulated outcomes for children. This position will be an integrated part of the Individual Giving team, working closely with the Partnership team to organize and structure the conversations with the targeted, high potential businesses and align strategies with the Individual Giving strategy and Supporter Engagement Strategy. It will also act as the coordinating focal point for all IG teams and be the focal point for interactions with markets when planning, operationalizing and rolling out initiatives regarding relevant high impact / shared value partnerships with businesses that have the experience and access to potential supporters. The role holder will be responsible for helping UNICEF unlock that potential and deliver income and supporter growth.

How can you make a difference?

As Fundraising Specialist (Individual Giving) you will: 

  • Work with Partnership Teams in identifying and advising on prospect and existing high impact/shared value partners that can be instrumental in reaching the goals of the Supporter Engagement Strategy as well as the Individual Giving Income Strategy, which aims at recruiting 14 million donors giving $1.7 billion by 2021.
  • Work across the organization (UNICEF Divisions, Country Offices, Regional Offices and National Committees) to support the Partnerships Team to devise, co-design and articulate the individual Giving opportunities from specific prospects and partners and make them operational and actionable.
  • In close cooperation with Corporate Partnerships, work directly with external prospects and partners to identify prospect PSVP, identifying and articulating opportunities in business relevant language and co-developing test and roll out opportunities in relevant markets. Secure buy in from UNICEF markets, develop test plans and KPI’s as well as following the test from start to finish. In addition, after testing is done, prepare feedback and reporting on results and come with recommendations for further deployment in markets and potentially (where relevant) support global roll out.
  • Share results and good practice between individual giving practitioners in UNICEF, via workshops, social media, and fundraising intranet and on an ad-hoc basis. Create & share global resources. Be responsible for the relevant content on SharePoint.
  • Design a strategic approach for Corporate Partnerships that maximizes the reach of all partners.

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Advanced University degree in any of the following: Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Fundraising, Social Sciences, Public Administration, International Relations, or equivalent.  A first level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree
  • At least 5 years hands-on experience, in progressively responsible roles, of managing and developing individual giving activities, with at least 3 of those years in charities/NGOs including experience of international fundraising. In addition, experience in working with Partners in implementing strategies in markets is essential. Strong in individual giving as well as digital fundraising is a must.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Spanish is an asset.
