Risk, Safety & Security Specialist The International Potato Center (CIP) is looking for a Risk, Safety and Security (RSS) Specialist to be part of the Risk, Safe and Security department to develop the processes of Risk Management & Compliance.

About the role: The successful candidate will coordinate CIP Global Risk Management and compliance Activities to support the enhancement of risk management and compliance best practices at Program, Country, Regional, and Departmental, and Strategic levels. This position will be based in Lima, Peru and will report directly to the Global Risk Safety and Security Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Management (RM)

• Create and update as required RM policies and guidelines and align with global Best Practices • Development and maintain RM training tools and other materials aligned with global Best Practices

• Lead training for Program and Country Managers on CIP Risk management policies, and registers.

• Lead development of monitoring and evaluation of the RM programs key performance indicators.

• Manage follow up with CIP leadership to verify the fulfillment of Mandated Risk management activities.

• Conduct analysis of risk registers from Program through to Regional/Departmental to inform Strategic level registers and trends

• Manage Risk Assessment Activities including standard, tools, and coordination with local staff, third party contractors, and companies as required. (ethics and safeguarding policies) • Develop ofcontingency and crisesmanagement planswith CountryManagersand CIP Reports & Programs.

• Document CIP high level Risks and Risk Mitigation strategies/activities. • Maximize use of technology for communication and management of RM program. • Ensures managers have the tools and information they require to complete Risk Management activities.

General Compliance Activities

• Ensures that CIPs operations adhere to established policies, guidelines and standards via ongoing reports and periodic audits.

• Manage the development and enhancement of CIPs compliance programs including: environmental, duty of care (occupational health and safety, security, travel, risk and emergency management), safeguarding, and financial. • CoordinatefollowuptoreportingandmonitoringactivitiesacrossCIPtoverifycomplianceand identify shortcomings, gaps.

• Identify improvement areas and assist in plan developmentto bring activities into compliance.

• Maintainknowledgeandinformationrepositoriesforcomplianceandensureandaccessibility.

Generate reports and communication.

• Develop and deliver training to staff on compliance requirements.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, Emergency Management, or Industrial Engineering

(Required).

• At least 5 years of experience in related or similar positions.

• Membership, courses and / or certification in Risk Management such as: Institute of Risk

Management (IRM), Asociación Peruana de Empresas de Corredores de Seguros (APECOSE),

Business Alliance for Secure Commerce (BASC), or SGS (required)

• Knowledge of ISO risk management standards

• Relevant experience in risk management security, risk, or compliance.

• NGO experience is preferred

• Experience in systems, processes or technical areas with insurance companies is preferred.

• Specializations: Risk Management, Compliance, Training or Administration

• Advanced level of MS Office, especially in Excel, outlook and sharepoint.

• Fluent oral and written communication skills in English (Required).
