ICT Operations Specialist

THE POSITION

Under the general supervision of the ICT Manager, the ICT Operations Specialist will support the Organization’s on-premises and Cloud networks. Working as part of the ICT team, the ICT Operations Specialist will monitor network infrastructure and ERP applications resolving system issues currently deployed. His/her experience will span from IT performance management, network administration and system security. The candidate must also be familiar with data protection regulations to ensure that our IT systems are secure, consistent and reliable.

Specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties and tasks:

  • Maintain and optimize on-premises and Cloud networks and servers;
  • Monitor data backup and system security operations (e.g. user authorization, permissions, firewalling rules, etc.)
  • Assist the ICT Manager with the installations, upgrades and configurations of servers and ERP applications (on MS Dynamics NAV 2018);
  • Assess system performance and recommend improvements;
  • Resolve issues escalated by 1st level ICT technician;
  • Maintain a comprehensive, up-to-date ICT asset register, ensuring that equipment is disposed of appropriately and in-line with replacement cycle;
  • Prepare and monitor hardware maintenance schedules, procedures and technical documentation;
  • Assist with cloning and Software installations and configurations on both clients and servers;
  • Ensure data is handled, transferred or processed according to data protection and security guidelines
  • Provide support and guidance to end-users via help desk platform on both IT operations systems and ERP modules;
  • Support the ICT Manager as required including in developing IT policies, practices and delivering end user trainings.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Education and work experience

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of substantial professional experience, ideally in an international organization;
  • Demonstrated experience in IT Support and experience with system installation, configuration and analysis is essential.

Languages

  • Fluent oral and writing skills in English are required.
  • Working knowledge of another official language (Italian, French, Spanish or Arabic) is desirable.

Specific knowledge, skills and competencies

  • Thorough knowledge of networks and cloud computing.
  • Knowledge of data protection operations and legislation (e.g. GDPR, CTPA).
  • Knowledge of ERP platforms and modules (MS Dynamics Navision is desirable). 
  • Organized and able to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Good communication skills; ability to build effective working relationships with bankers and internal counterparts.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to develop and foster productive working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Keen sense of ethics, integrity and commitment to IDLO’s mandate.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

For this internationally professionally recruited affiliate position, IDLO shall offer the selected candidate a contract for 24 months, with the possibility of extension, subject to performance and availability of funding.

In addition, IDLO shall offer a yearly basic salary in the range of EUR €50,000 to a level commensurate with experience and qualifications, and an additional benefits package including, Provident fund contribution, medical insurance and leave entitlements in accordance with IDLO Employee Regulations and Rules. Relocation and installation support are also available for internationally recruited employees.

Salaries and benefits paid by IDLO to employees are exempt from taxation in Italy.  IDLO employees are responsible for compliance with income tax laws of their country of nationality or residence and/or of any other relevant fiscal jurisdictions.
