DRC Jordan is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of Protection Specialist – Partnerships and Capacity Building is responsible for providing technical support to DRC Jordan’s partners.it will include, but is not limited to, protection capacity assessments, capacity building (including training and coaching), and technical tool developed, as required. The Protection Specialist will also be responsible for providing technical training on protection topics to DRC Jordan staff, as per the Protection Technical Unit’s bi-annual capacity building plan. Given the strong focus on psychosocial support (PSS) amongst DRC protection partners, DRC is looking for a Protection Specialist with a strong technical background in PSS.

 

 

About the job

The individual will report directly to Protection Manager. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

 

 

Technical Support to Partners

 Undertake protection capacity assessments of partners as directed by the Partnerships Coordinator, in consultation with the PSS Advisor and collaboration with relevant Protection Specialists (legal, case management);

 In collaboration with partners, the Partnerships Coordinator, PSS Advisor and relevant Protection Specialists, develop a technical oversight and capacity building plan for each partner;

 In consultation with the PSS Advisor, provide technical oversight of partners’ activities, using DRC quality monitoring tools;

 Provide capacity building to partners, through formal trainings, coaching and mentoring;

 Support partners in the development of technical protection tools, as required;

 Contribute to the technical review of partners’ reporting documents and development of partners’ proposals.

 

Training Development and Delivery for DRC Staff

 Work with the Protection Manager and Protection Technical Unit to identity protection training needs for DRC staff and develop a bi-annual training plan;

• Develop protection training materials in Arabic and English, in consultation with the Protection Manager;

• Deliver trainings/workshops in Arabic and English, as per the needs of the trainees.

• Any other tasks, as requested by the Protection Manager or Partnerships Coordinator.

 

 

 

 

 

About you

 

• Degree in Counseling or Psychology; Masters would be a distinct advantage.

 

 

Required / Desirable

• Minimum 5 years of experience working for an INGO in the protection sector, working in the field of MHPSS

• Extensive experience developing and delivering protection training;

• Experience working with national partners, local/government authorities, and UN organizations;

• Excellent communication skills.

• Full professional proficiency in English and Arabic
