The Global Cause Campaigns are global integrated campaigns that bring together Advocacy, Fundraising, Communication and Public Engagement initiatives as part of an integrated strategy to achieve concrete changes for UNICEF’s priority issues. Some Campaigns are led from NYHQ and some are led from the Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP), which is contributing with this dedicated post: a Coordinator (Global Cause Campaigns).

Purpose of the Job:

Reporting to the Senior Advocacy & Policy Specialist (P5), who serves as one of the Campaign Leads for one of the Global Cause Campaigns, the post will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operations of the campaign team as it executes against the work plan, ensuring proper information flow and coordination within the team and with stakeholders across the organization, and help drive the strategic direction of the global integrated campaign. S/he will be in charge of budget management, as well as monitoring and reporting on behalf of the campaign.

Main Tasks:

  1. Ensure the smooth operations of the campaign team as it executes against the work plan.
  2. Internal and external communications production and oversight.
  3. Strategic development and execution.
  4. Campaign monitoring and evaluation.

DELIVERABLES:

1. On ensuring the smooth operations of the campaign team

  • Campaign plan documents regularly updated and available to all campaign team members.
  • Logistics facilitated around campaign team meetings (setting up calls, minute-taking, follow-up of action points, etc).
  • All requested materials are submitted to the Global Cause Campaigns Secretariat on a timely basis for meetings (Cause Campaign Management or Strategic Team) and regular oversight. This includes core campaign materials, calendar updates, budget tracking, M&E mechanisms, etc.
  • Campaign budget is available, up to date and regularly monitored to ensure its fully execution.
  • Campaign plan tracker

2.  On internal and external communications

  • Campaign’s intranet page (ICON/SharePoint) and all internal communication tools (teamshite, weshare, etc.) are maintained and routine internal communications and promotion are executed.
  • Migration- and campaign-related information on www.unicef.org is maintained.
  • Key materials are prepared to introduce the campaign and its specific initiatives to internal and external stakeholders (i.e.             presentations at key forums, proposals to be presented to potential donors and/or allies, etc.).
  • Monthly calendar is produced

3. On strategic development and execution

  • Campaign plans per specific activities are designed, including through leadership of activation teams composed of members of        different divisions and sections within PFP.
  • Creativity plans are designed and executed, including through managing the relationship with a creative agency.
  • Testing of creative content is coordinated and results are compiled into feed into the refinement of assets.
  • Pitching materials to potential partners are developed, response to partnership needs is delivered.
  • Global campaign activations are designed and executed.

4. On campaign monitoring and evaluation

  • Campaign M&E system in place and information adequately submitted to CF Secretariat.
  • Tracking of the activities implemented is done as part of the campaign at global, regional and national level.
  • Agreed KPIs are submitted to the Global Cause Campaigns Secretariat and facilitated to the Campaign Team for discussion and      learning.
  • Tracking and monitoring the use of the funds allocated to the campaign is done, working with the relevant colleagues within            PFP/DOC as well as in the CF Secretariat.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:

  • An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: Social Sciences, Communications, Marketing, or another relevant technical field.

  • *A first level university degree in a relevant field combined with 7 years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional work experience in project management is required.
  • Experience in integrated campaigning (advocacy, communication and fundraising) is required.
  • Experience from UNICEF or national committees will be highly valued.
  • Computer literate with a good knowledge of relevant computer software applications, including design, layout skills and social media (MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, VISION and Outlook).

Language Skills:

  • Fluency in English is required. Good writing skills is essential. Knowledge of another official UN language (preferably French or Spanish) would be desirable.
