Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst will:

  1. Assist with the full roll out of the new project monitoring & evaluation framework, including through conducting regular site visits and monitoring of TDLG project activities, including those implemented by Responsible Parties, gathering and analysing data, supporting management of commissioned surveys and studies, and supporting periodic reporting on project activities in line with the corporate and donor requirements.
  2. Assist the facilitation of the project’s planning processes, particularly the development of high quality work plans through team discussions.
  3. Assist preparation of formal project meetings, particularly the bi-annual Project Board and Technical Working Group meetings, and also ad hoc meetings with government counterparts, donors, other UN agencies and the project’s implementing partners.
  4. Supporting the project’s ongoing communication initiatives, including drafting short articles/feeds on TDLG activities for UNDP’s website and other outlets, production of fact sheets on project activities, and arranging media coverage of programme work and events.
  5. Promote information sharing, communication and coordination between the TDLG Project and other projects of UNDP, UN Agencies and development partners, as may be required.
  6. Analytical support in drafting of knowledge products through collecting background information, analysis, and data collection on township planning process, also covering gender equality and conflict sensitivity areas;
  7. Participate in regular multi-agency coordination meetings related to sub-national planning process and conflict sensitive development management;
  8. Work with other team members as necessary to support TDLG’s workshops, seminars, capacity building training, local policy advocacy initiatives, etc.
Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Master degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments:

Relevant Degree in Public Administration, Development Studies, Conflict Management or any related field;

Required experience: 60 Months Experience remark:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in the field of democratic governance and ideally within the UN system.

Language skills:
  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
Area of expertise: Governance and decentralization, Development programme management, Administration and administrative assistance Area of expertise details:

Experience in supporting implementation of development projects and programmes is required, including monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Demonstrated experience in the field of democratic governance is preferable, e.g. supporting institutional capacity development, civil society support, conflict prevention and gender equality.
