Mission and objectives

Context

This volunteering opportunity is supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Tunisia in the framework of the initiative launched in partnership with UNV in December 2023 to foster youth and disability inclusion through meaningful and impactful volunteering assignments with the United Nations between 2024 and 2026. The Applicant receives guidance from more senior programme staff and may receive indirect guidance from other sections and units relevant to the country programme(s). UNHCR Manual, programme/CBI objectives, Operations Plans, UN and UNHCR financial/budgetary rules and regulations will guide the work of the Applicant. The incumbent is expected to have contacts within the organization and outside the duty station, as well as with partners and other stakeholders to collect information, monitor programme/CBI activities and implement administrative requirements. S/he is expected to work in line with the multi-functional team (MFT) approach as defined within the Program Manual, ensuring the participation of relevant stakeholders in all phases of the Program Management Cycle.

Task description

Embedded under the UNHCR Zarzis Field Office, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: • Support the collection of monitoring data, including data from partners. • Compile, review monitoring reports and data of partners and teams. • Generate monitoring and progress reports on a regular basis. • Explain to the cash beneficiaries’ details related to the cash (different type of cash, modalities, availability…) • Report and verify if the individuals are included in the cash assistance list. • Review the implementation and performance of IPs agreements through appropriate physical monitoring to evaluate the projects by reviewing work plans, progress reports, budget, finan-cial reports, and expenditures; undertake field visits as required. • Assist in monitoring the implementation of the UNHCR cash assistance programme. • Perform data analysis and reporting as required. • Perform other related duties as required.
